The Denver Broncos head to Kansas City for a divison game against the Chiefs. Arrowhead Stadium is one of the toughest places to play, but we just saw Tim Tebow win in the Black Hole … so certainly he can win in Kansas City. Kickoff is at 1pm ET and the game will be aired locally on CBS. Those of you in the Great Plains to the Rockies will get this game.
With a win over the Chiefs, the Broncos can move into a 3-way tie for second place in the division. After the first few games of the season, there’s no one out there who thought the Broncos would compete for a division title. But they’d only be 1 game behind Oakland and certainly capabale of competing.
The Chiefs are giving up 370.8 yards pergame (250.5 in the air and 120.2 on the ground). Giving up 120+ on the ground is not good, I think this opens up the opportunity for Tim to run all over them like he did aginast Oakland. KC is giving up 25.1 points per game and the Broncos 28, so this could be a high scoring game.
Call me crazy but I think Tim Tebow will elad the Broncos to another win this week. Kansas City is coming off a terrible loss to the Dolphins last week and they’re in a position to be taken advantage of. Tim is going to throw for 200 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception, plus he’ll run the ball for 80 yards and a touchdown. I didn’t post a Fantasy Football Start Em Sit Em yesterday, but for those of you keeping score that would be 26 points (In my league).
Go Tebow!
LOVE THE TEBOWZONE….GO TEBOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GBT2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear Tim:
Stay hungry, stay humble.
1 Sam 2:30
You are selling Tim short, again! He will break 100 yards rushing for the second week in a row. I’m not sure he will get to 200 yards passing simply because the Chiefs won’t be able to contain the run game. That being said, KC is weak against the pass, so maybe he will. Look for the Broncos D to shut down the KC offence and the Broncos to cruise to a relatively easy win.
Bronco’s performance in this one depends somewhat on which Chiefs team shows up, and therefore which Arrowhead crowd they contend with.
Will it be the Epic Win, 23-20, over San Diego in Overtime to tie for the Division lead, Chiefs? Or will it be the Epic Fail 3-31 loss to the heretofore winless Dolphins, Chiefs, that silenced their own crowd?
It’d be hard to have a bigger emotional swing than that in back-to-back games, and the hangover may prove all the Broncos need to make their AFC West resurgence complete.
Regardless of final outcome of the season, a win this week goes a long way toward making Bronco-land a happier, more hopeful place.
Despite upcoming games in which the Broncos will be decided underdogs, a win AT Arrowhead is always a welcome boost to morale, and couldn’t come at a better time.
Looking forward to Sunday. I feel very hopeful that the Broncos and Timmy can get a win. GBT2
Another week, another division game on the road. After seeing Tim and the entire Bronco team improve last week, I hope they’re getting more comfortable in the offensive scheme. I think they should be even better, and KC can be dangerous, so let’s just hope Denver starts fast and finishes strong. They definitely have the talent to beat the Chiefs, and after last week, it appears they now have the plan and the leadership as well. I think this will be more of a defensive struggle than last week, so I’ll take Tim and the boys by 7 in a very important game. GBTT!
David: Guess you know what you are talking about b/c the score was up by 7!!! Great job on the commentary too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have my vote for replacing BOOMER & THE REST OF THE CRITICS ON ESPN!!!
GBTT!!!
Don’t forget, I’m the same guy that thought they’d beat the lions, so I can’t crow too much about this one. Still that game was before they installed the read option offense. Was worried when the top two running backs left the game in the first quarter, but it worked out well.
Does anyone know if this game is on PPV? If not, will have to listen via KOA radio out of Denver as a last resort. Hope the whole team pulls together again for a WIN and that McCoy/Tebow can work the SPREAD OPTION OFFENSE LIKE THEY DID ON THE RAIDERS B/C I HAVE READ THAT IT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP BOTH THE RUN A/O THE PASS AT THE SAME TIME!! URBAN MEYER PRACTICALLY INVENTED IT AND HAS BEEN KNOWN AS A LEGEND WHEN RUNNING IT!!! LOOKS LIKE THE CHIEFS WERE DEFEATED BY MIAMI 31 TO 3!! BELIEVE ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE AT THIS POINT…GBTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GUESS ELWAY IS NOT GOING TO BE TOO HAPPY THAT STANFORD LOST IN A BIG WAY TO OREGON ON SATURDAY AND MIGHT ACTUALLY BE OUT OF LUCK (FINAL SCORE: 53 TO 30)!!! IN FACT, STANFORD REALLY STUNK UP THE FIELD WITH FIVE TURNOVERS, 2 INTERCEPTS, HUGE AMOUNT OF FUMBLES, MULTIPLE SACKS ON QB OUT OF THE SHOT GUN AND THE LIST GOES ON!!! SO MUCH FOR THE SWEEPSTAKES…OH, WELL!!!!!!!
Found the game on CBS-WEST on Satellite Direct…so far, Denver 10 & Chiefs Zip going into half-time!!! GO TEBOW/BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DENVER 17 & CHIEFS 10…ANOTHER WIN FOR TEBOW & THE BRONCOS!!!!! HEY DAVID, YOU NAILED IT ON THE SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAY TO GO BRONCOS!!!
GBTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just found out Tebow has a 102.6 rating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, Broncos are the NFL’s top rushing team with 229.0 yds. per game and are in CONTENTION FOR THE PLAYOFFS SINCE TEBOW HAS BEEN NAMED THE STARTING QB!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT JOB TIM AS WELL AS DECKER!!! KUDOS TO THE DOOM AND ROYAL AS WELL AS THE WHOLE TEAM TOO!!!
Lookin’ good!!!! I am so excited!!! Another win!!! Sorry, Elway, your team isn’t going to “Suck for Luck.” Anyway, it looked to me like Luck was the one that “sucked” last night against the Ducks. Go Timmy!!! Hope McGahee and Moreno get better before Thursday so the Broncos will have a better chance against the Jets. I have a feeling about the Jets game. As a Gator, I know Timmy can pass. I wonder if the Broncos held back on passing so the Jets will be lulled into believing the idiot media, thinking that “Tebow can’t hit the broad side of a barn and ,then, all of a sudden, against the Jets, pull the pass plays out of the bag.
Hey Tisa! Can’t help but laugh about Luck being an “UNLUCKY DUCK” comment!! At one point in the game they showed Elway and he was none too happy!!! Looks like the Tebow Train has left the station without him on it…you think?!!!! Great post too!!!!!
GBT2!!!!!!
ck, you know, if Elway keeps up with the attempt to draft another QB, he may find himself the one left out. Lots of people, including the media, are beginning to talk about the fact that he can’t seem to compliment Timmy. People are starting to hold the receivers accountable for dropping balls as well. Every missed pass is not Timmy’s fault. He did throw one really rotten egg today. This is a team growing together, they are young and will make mistakes. But they sure play a lot better than they did. Pray for Thursday night. It would be so awesome to see them beat the Jets!! GBT2!!
tisa: Am also aware that the dynamic duo of Elrotten & Xandasderd were out scouting the day before Sunday’s game to see the Arizona QB: Nick Foles on 11/12/11 @ Arizona vs. Colorado game!! How dishonest is that…instead of encouraging the starting QB for the Broncos and WHO WON THE GAME AGAINST THE CHIEFS, I MIGHT ADD, THE UNPROFESSIONAL VP IS BEHIND THE SCENES DOING WHAT HE DOES BEST (WASN’T HE A USED CAR SALESMAN AND FAILED AT THAT ALSO?!!)! Then, as if that was not enough, Klis (MAYBE KLIS SHOULD BE TOLD NEXT!!) of the Denver Post wrote about it around 8:00 that evening…WELL, GUESS WHAT?, TEBOW AND THE BRONCOS FOUND A WAY TO WIN IN SPITE OF THIS GARBAGE GOING ON!!!! LIKE I SAID, WE KNOW WHO IS ON TEBOW’S SIDE!!!
GBT2
Here is what one person (second guesser) stated after reading Klis post: “Not a far stretch to believe that Elway doesn’t know there are other positions on a team. What’s ironic is that Tebow may save the job of the clown who’s trying so hard to be rid of him.”
oops…meant to spell dastardly for Xanders!
GBT2
Let’s hope that after last night’s dismal performance, Luck doesn’t drop far enough in the draft for Denver to snag him. Now Elway is probably hoping that luck sucks, since Timmy is winning!
David: Good point…didn’t think about that scenario. How about that “GREAT” pass to Decker by Tebow?!!
Watched the Jets lose to the Patriots and their QB Sanchez threw quite a few INTs. ANYWAY, PROUD OF TT & THE BRONCOS FOR GETTING A WIN IN YET ANOTHER HOSTILE TERRITORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GBT2
Elway’s car dealerships weren’t used car lots, they were dealerships. They were successful and he sold them to Wayne Hyzinga, owner of AutoNation (and the Miami Dolphins at the time). They have since re-branded to the GO network here in Denver and are still doing fine. Elway has recently re-entered the dealership business and I would venture to guess the new Elway Dealership is doing well, too.
That being said, I really hope we don’t end up drafting a first round QB. If we actually win our division, I imagine we will draft to improve our team at other positions first.
FYI: Does Kirk Wright and $15 million evoke a successful business venture by Elway as well? BTW the so-called auto franchise was sold for 82.5 million and he split it with his partner and has either had a hit/miss regarding businesses ever since which does not translate into being a VP of Football Operations capable of making sound decisions! Questionable practices at best!! Guess I am just biased b/c of his treatment of TT!!!
Read an article where it stated that Elway cried when he had to retire due to not being able to perform…so, I guess at one time he was able to relate to having been denied his chance to play a sport he dedicated himself to…Hmmmmmmm…sounds familiar!!!!
As a side note…glad he has a back-up plan in case he doesn’t make it as VP in Denver; i.e., car salesman…pretty much sums it up!!!
GBTT
Used car salesman just about describes my esteem for Elway.
tisa: Appreciate your humor and it just underscores why he is not always held in high esteem…still laughing!!!
I recently came across your blog and read along. I thought I would leave my first comment. It was really great and I enjoy reading the messages and so that this site is meant for all those who visit it.
