Tim Tebow Named the Starter

Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com is reporting that it’s officially Tebow Time!

Head coach John Fox informed his team Tuesday morning that Tebow is being named the starting quarterback in Week 7 for an October 23 game at Miami, FOXSports.com has learned. The Broncos have a bye this week.

The move was expected after Tebow almost led a second-half comeback replacing an ineffective Kyle Orton in last Sunday’s 29-24 home loss to Denver. Now, Fox has made it official. An announcement to the media will come later Tuesday.

I guess Coach Fox watched the film last night and decided it was time to make the move. Orton just doesn’t cut it anymore.

Now that he finally has his chance, Tim needs to make the most of it. We all know he will prepare like none other to get ready for his matchup against the Dolphins.

Tim, im born and raised in Louisiana so naturally im a die-hard Saints fan. But im also a fan of good hearted people who poses a competitive drive, which makes me a Tebow fan. Ive read your book, I know your story, I fallow your success. All your life they said you couldnt do it, yet you have always proved them wrong. This is but another opportunity to achieve greatness. All the NFL greats before you are remembered only because they took advantage of their opporunties. “Tom Brady was given an opportunity…look what he did with it.” Look at the opportunities ” John Elway” took advantage of in all those 4th qtr games!…Just ask your self one question Tim…”How do you wana be remembered in the game of football?”…As great?…Or just a guy?.. He had his shot and blew it?… Time marches on Tim but history last forever. I will be sitting in my house in Louisiana cheering you on and watching as you make YOUR history. Good luck and God Bless.

Guess management woke up and “SMELLED THE COFFEE!!” Also, here is a post I thought was great at explaining things:

RE: Article Discussion–”Disgruntled fans want more input on Broncos” by P.A.
“A fan is a customer…Customers support products and services with $$$. $$$ is what makes the NFL tick…Do I get to tell Elway and Bowlen what to do? Of course not…Do I get to complain about a product or service when it isn’t working well or it’s just plain broken? You bet…Is it wise management to listen to customer complaints, particulary when they come flooding in? Duh…Want to bet Elway, Fox, and Bowlen are listening now…Does that mean they have to jump to start Tebow? No…Does that mean that they need to think about their options at QB if things continue as they have? They would be stupid not to…
Fans = $$$…Smart businesses pay attention to who they serve…
There, that wasn’t so complicated, was it?”

Very succinct and to the point; excellent commentary! This is a BIG PART OF WHY MANAGEMENT RECEIVED THE MESSAGE “LOUD & CLEAR” AND FINALLY DECIDED TO DO THE RIGHT THING IN MAKING TEBOW THE STARTER; NOT TO MENTION HOW WELL HE DID ON THE FIELD AND ALMOST WON THE GAME WITH TWO 4TH QUARTER TDS IN NO LESS THAN 3 MINUTES BACK TO BACK AND ALMOST A THIRD WITH SECONDS TO SPARE!!!!! NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fans are customers but when it comes to sports fans they have emotional attachments that are not based in reality, example, fans think “they” “we” or “us” won something & wear jerserys for a team but don’t do that about all the other businesses they go to. I want to hear someone brag about the great burger “we” made today from someone who buys a burger at mcdonalds. My point is I’ve own many businesses for years & were all the input of customers matters greatly & I love everyone I ever had I never once let them tell me how to do business. Think of the greatest coaches in history & teams doing what the fans want, titles rarely come from that because though not one fan believes it they know less than the coaches & players do about a team.
Will tebow do great? I hope so but I wish it would be with less fan support so to speak because no matter what he does it will be seen as great by many & I like an unbias evaluation of things, no emotion involved. Tebow bud I hope you do great but I will view it unattached & great is great bad is bad & what was done in college means nothing in pro ball. I hope tebow fans will view it the same & congrats to his fans for the faith in him because part of faith is patience, know you folks are excited about this. Good wishes folks & tebow

I think it is so awesome that Timmy’s first start this year will be here in Florida. We can all see it on TV and he will have a lot of fans in the stands, even though it is an away game for him. It’s really encouraging to read that all the players want to use the next two weeks to get better at their individual positions. Timmy can’t do it all by himself but I do think Timmy gives them hope. There are improvements on this team from last year and with Timmy’s leadership I think they will win some games. When I consider how well they did on Sunday, cold
turkey, I am very encouraged for the future. Timmy said they had never practiced the plays they ran nor has he taken a snap under the starting center this year. If they got in rhythmn in one quarter Sunday, think what two weeks will do. The wait was so excruciating, so I am truly ready for Tebow Time! Go Tebow!!!!

    YES!!

I’ve waned this opportunity for 18 months, for T2 to get his shot at leading the Denver Broncos’ offense and giving him his chance to be the QB of the future for this franchise which has slid into mediocrity.

He’s a perfect role model, a great interview, a tremendous athlete and a perfect face for the football club.

Hey, if he stinks, then Denver goes out and drafts a QB like Barkley (because Luck will not come to Denver, there are worse teams who will get him at #1). If he succeeds (AND I BELIEVE HE WILL), Denver FINALLY has their franchise QB that they’ve desperately needed since 1999.

Go Tim Tebow. Best of luck to you Sir. Will enjoy watching you blossom into a top NFL QB and leading the Denver Broncos into the future.

Congrats on the win Tebow today! It wasn’t pretty but the win show how you have the blessing. It is like King David in his sheppard outfit he did not have the warrior outfit on and his still was able to throw his rock and execute the goal. Continue to glorify God and even your enemies will be subdued. God Bless
