No one really expected the Denver Broncos to beat the GReen Bay Packers, but we didn’t expect the game to be a blow out either. And don’t let the 23-49 score fool you, it was much worse. Green Bay did whatever the wanted to and there was nothing the Broncos could do about it. Denver is now 1-3 and tied with Kansas City for last in the division.
There was a Tim Tebow sighting in the game. On a 1st and 10 in the 1st quarter, Tebow took a snap in shotgun and rush it up the gut for -1 yards. Had it been a productive play, I’m sure the Broncos would have done more with a Tebow package. But the Packers snuffed it out to perfection. And that was that.
Orton again just played God awful, but the coaches stick with him no matter what. He threw 3 interceptions, including one directly to Charles Woodson which he returned for a touchdown. But apparently Kyle Orton will never get taken out of the lineup unless he’s injured. Here is Coach John Fox post game interview on NFL.com where he says as much
Here are the highlight videos from the game – if you can call them that.
Oy vey. Their Tebow package is a run up the middle.
The Broncos are a running joke in the NFL and not at all even relevant anymore.
Play Tebow the rest of the year and see if he has what it takes to lead this team in 2012.
If not, trade or release him so he can begin his promising NFL career in Jacksonville or Miami where he will be appreciated and utilized while Denver goes after one of the talented QBs in the 2012 Draft.
The Broncos are a friggin’ joke and I cant take much more of it.
The owners and the coach are the joke and I too am sick of it! It is clear to me that they want nothing to do with Tebow or Quinn and have plans to start with a new QB next fall. I suggest they also get a new head coach if they want a winning team. I hope Tebow and Quinn both go to teams where they are appreciated and their hard work pays off for them.
John Fox isn’t a very convincing liar, is he? He should leave that part of management’s repertoire to Elway, a liar that can still convince most Denver fans.
From itsalloverfatman.com:
‘John Fox says he’s sticking with Orton. Don’t worry, folks, we’ll see Tebow eventually. Still 12 games to go…’
I agree. This is eerily exactly how last year went. First, fan frustration over Tebow never playing, then Tim only being used in a few dumb running-only plays that failed, then Tim slowly actually being allowed to throw the #*&%$#$ football & used in red zone plays, then his finally starting 3 games & doing well.
Unless they trade him, cut him, or keep putting him in running plays & get him injured, we’re bound to see Tim at some point this year, b/c this team is clearly going nowhere just like last year.
Even the KOA radio guys were wondering why Tebow &/or Quinn weren’t being used when the game was clearly out of reach. The same thing happened during last year’s Raiders debacle.
Tebow’s detractors say that Tim hasn’t proven himself enough to play. For his detractors, it’s as if those last 3 games last year-& the mostly successful red zone plays he was used in before that-never happened. Tim DOES have an NFL track record & it’s not a bad one. There’s only ONE of his stats that’s questionable-50% completion. All of the others I’ve seen are not only decent, some of them are downright impressive.
Also, did anyone else notice just how often Aaron Rodgers (aka Greatest QB on the Planet) was in the shotgun? At one point in the game, it seemed like it was about 1/3 of the time. And did anyone else notice that Rodgers not only ran w/the ball, but even scored 2 of his TDs by running it in himself? I thought QBs weren’t supposed to run in the NFL. Or maybe it’s just QBs named Tebow who aren’t supposed to run in the NFL-unless, of course, they’re being used at WR, or used in a really brilliant run-right-up-the-middle-into-the-defense’s-waiting-arms ‘package play’.
Fox finally put in the vaunted ‘Tebow package’ against the team w/the best defense against the run. Fox is clearly either a doormat who’s doing as he’s told (& Elway really is out to get Tebow), or an Utter Moron. Right now, many fans are wanting a change in QBs. If this ineptitude keeps up, most fans are going to be wanting a change in the head coach.
About 70% of successful offensive plays in the NFL originate with the QB in the shotgun. That’s how Elway, Manning, Brady, Rogers, Rivers, Breeze all found success. Elway’s making such a big deal about putting Tebow under center is just one more of his multitude of lies about Tim’s abilities.
Using K.O. , whose contract is over at end of 2011, for a “rebuilding” team says everything EFX won’t say. But the answers are there, between the lines. The only one of these three QB’s who plays like Fox wants a QB to play, ie: pedestrian, vanilla, predictable, BORING, is K.O. Fox makes no concessions for Tim,doesn’t work on his skill set or give him any QB reps w/any but scout team, doesn’t talk about any future plans for Tebow, because there are none. Tebow is not his kind of Q.B. Bowlen probably doesn’t want to let him go because of the revenue he generates, and the national attention his bottom feeder team gets because of Tebow. Tim’s future is elsewhere, and it’s only a matter of time until he is traded or asks to be traded.Thats when his NFL career will begin.Denver had a pro bowler in their grasp who would have given the Broncos his heart and soul and passion and guts and loyalty, and they chose a coach who not only wouldn’t use him, but didn’t have the ability or imagination to do so had he wanted to.
I’m afraid Cindy is right. Whatever team Tim Tebow goes to is my future team as well. GO TEBOW!!!
START TEBOW!!!

According to Woody Paige, Elway says he has a 3 year plan. I’m beginning to think his 3 year plan involves hiring one of the worst head coaches he could find, so they’ll have so many losses they’ll be in the running to draft Luck next year.
I absolutely agree with Cindy. It looks like there is going to be a coaching change in Miami. The right coach and maybe there will be a place for Timmy. I hope he gets to come somewhere closer to home. I read that Jimmy Sexton was on the sidelines pregame in Greenbay. Maybe just to see his client play in that awesome package or just maybe….
‘in that awesome package’
LOL.
I kind of hope Tebow simply gets released instead of traded. Tim’s made very good decisions about what high school & college teams to go w/& in choosing his agent. When Tim gets to choose, he usually makes good choices. But he didn’t choose the Broncos-they chose him &, of course, it’s turned out badly.
I’m gonna hit on this as short as I can & though no one will think I’m being factual that’s ok. The “spread” that rodgers, brady & manning run are a spread 1read look that has more to do with how quick they can read & throw its not like what people think of as spread & where we have spread looks added to pro style progression we won’t get full spread because of 2 reasons. 1- everyone knows you’ll throw & making line adjustments is easy to do because of how limited you are with 4 wide though each olne of the QBs above has a different spread look based off of the personel they have. Things like a 1,2,3,TE & so on, so to runit against a pro defense you have to be real fast & 1 read. 2-your QB takes a big risk because with the spread you cut down on QB protection & no NFL coach wants their most important player being hit much.
Just taking the ball from the shotgun doesn’t make it spread & it also tips your hand because it means your letting everyone know you’ll throw & its not many running plays from the gun. The top NFL people who aren’t in to making a name by knocking players of any kind & just breakdown games, plays & players & have no stake in who plays & who doesn’t think tebow doesn’t read coverage quick enough yet to be able to do it like the big 5 can. I see this myself in tebow being a step behind in coverage reads, not say’n that’s all his fault at all because you need lots of practise & experince in game to do that but that’s why put’n tebow in the gun for every play or most plays isn’t looked at being done yet. Kinda like every great DB played against in college by tebow aren’t close to guys like ed reed that will eat you alive with a split second slower read that tebow has now due to his read time.
Reading in the NFL isn’t just looking to see if the WR is open now but if he’ll be open in 3 steps & how to “throw a WR open”. A close covered WR in college is a wide open WR in the NFL.
Like I said its not a knock on tebow because he hasn’t been worked with a lot to learn this by the broncos cause I don’t think they have any concern for him knowing that. It takes time to do coming from college for every QB & its a very very select few that can do it on a NFL liked level in college because the NFL is faster & quicker on every part & smaller.
I hope this makes sense cause I dislike the tebow knocks by media people without the full reason that’s dry & boring to most is why they don’t do it & hush hush, many of them don’t understand it that well. Its kinda like when “the wildcat” came out when it was the single wing being rehashed, it wasn’t new but it was new & sexy to modern fans.
Great NFL QB’n has so many very small little things that get overlooked in translation & the devenr jackasses haven’t try’d to teach tebow that. That’s why i’d like to see him leave. That’s the shortest I could make it on that so I’m sorry but hope it was informative. Take care all & as always have a great day.
I meant to say line adjustments is not easy. That’s the part of my 1st reason. Sorry about that.
Thanks for the explanation, jason. And you’re right about nobody explaining about the shotgun.
The only problem I have w/this is that this team’s management clearly doesn’t have a problem w/putting Tim in danger, since the only thing they’ve had him do so far this year is run w/the ball 1 time & line up as a WR multiple times. If he’s going to be put in harm’s way I’d rather it be as a QB, so he can learn.
As for reading defenses, Woody Paige did a radio interview after the Broncos 1st game in which he said that, in Elway’s rookie year, Dan Reeves told him off the record that Elway would never be a success in the NFL b/c he couldn’t read defenses & was too lazy to read defenses. Obviously Elway eventually learned that & I believe, given time & the right coaching, Tim can too.
Brooke, you do know I’m being facetious about the “awesome package”. You know, the one that didn’t work so they didn’t do it again. GRRR!
Yes, I knew you were kidding, Tisa.
Reported in the Denver Post by Woody Paige on Oct. 2, 2011:
“That Tebow is the closest thing to Roger Staubach I’ve seen in a quarterback…he works harder than everyone else and is a leader–you can’t coach it!” “TEBOW IS THAT KIND OF WINNER!” “BRONCOS SHOULD ADJUST THEIR OFFENSE TO THE SKILL-SET OF TIM TEBOW!” ALL STATED BY DAN REEVES FORMER BRONCOS COACH OF ELWAY WHEN ELWAY WAS TAKEN OUT OF GAMES DUE TO POOR PERFORMANCE AND NOT BEING ABLE TO READ DEFENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ALL TEAMS ADJUST TO THEIR QUARTERBACK’S SKILL SETS IF THEY WANT TO WIN…EXPLAINS IN DETAIL THE “FACTS”–RECOMMEND READING THE ARTICLE EXPLAINED BY A “REAL” PRO BOWL COACH!!!!
GO TEBOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks brooke & please never think I’m against tebow or any of you guys. I love football like you good folks like you love tebow & I think tebow can be great & honestly he could never do anything in the NFL & his mom & dad & family love him & what’s ever greater than that. Nothing.
I don’t want one kid hurt that ever plays the game I want everyone to do the best they can & whoever does best plays this great game.
Tebow to miami is great in many ways, I did a breakdown of why I think this would work & how to do it if its miami on another post that I’m not redo’n because as much as I love talking with you folks I’m not type’n things out again but it would work great.
Also for anyone who would think I’m against tebow I’ll say go tebow & we love ya!!!!
Folks take care I’ll try to keep up but I’ll be in italy for 2 weeks so you folks take care & do what tebow would say to us all…………have faith. Take care all.
And let’s not forget that the night tebow did his 1st jump basketball like pss for a TD his family went out for dinner later & a kid asked something about tebow signing something & tebow did & his dad said “that’s the best play of the night”.
That’s why he will in time go far in the NFL, because he was agreat man before he ever got there. Greatness is…….well its greatness, its like a brothers love is a brothers love. You folks take care.
Thanks Jason. Have a great time in Italy.
Ck don’t forget that dan reeves never won a super bowl, lost 3 in 4 years, I’ll take the coaches who have been better than all others cause in the nfl its all about super bowl wins for a head coach. Not try’n to slam you at all & please no that.
Dan reeves is wrong for say’n “no one works harder than tebow” because plenty of others work just as hard as tebow. That’s an insult to people like rodgers, brees, brady, manning & so many others. What I dislike & have the least respect for is when I hear people say that the nfl players don’t play for love of the game. I git news for anyone out there, the only way you make & last in the nfl is because you love the game. Its fine to say tebow works extremely hard but its also just wrong to think or act like no other player works like tebow does, I got news for you, tom brady is one of the hardest working guys to ever be in the nfl & every person on the planet who knows about the nfl & doesn’t hate a player just because they don’t personaly like him or who he plays for will tell you that. Hell rex ryan has said that belichick is & will go down as the greatest coach ever. Does rex ryan know less about football than fireman ed does? Not a chance.
We all want tebow to do good & remember that the media slams tebow but they will be the 1st to be back onboarrd when he does great because not one of them gets paid to be correct, they get paid to be watched.
Its a slap in the face that’d i’d bet anything & everything that tebow himself doesn’t think he works harder than any other player. Don’t just pick what supports how you feel, look at everything, belichick said tebow needs ore time, do you think dan reeves knows more about nfl coaching & players than belichick? Not any other coach in the nfl does & will tell you that. The 5 best QBs in the nfl work as hard if not harder than anyone.
Ck, man please don’t take me wrong though I sound like a prick at times. I want everyone to do their best & work for my best to be better than their’s. I have all the faith in the world that will see tebow’s best nfl play oneday & for me if its better than others great but to take down the greatness others have done, have done not think they can do but have done compared to a player that hasn’t in the nfl done it & not by his own fault I just will not do. Its like say’n rodgers, manning, brees, brady & some others slide down a notch just because someone else showed up, I can’t say that & take from them what they’ve done.
Does tebow (so far) have a better skill set than manning? No. Then rodgers? No than brady? No. So how can anyone say he has a better game than those 3. Anyone who watches the game won’t honestly say that. How can someone, nothing backs it up.
Will tebow be great in the nfl & maybe even change it, I think he can but harder working than every player, no. Works as hard as the top best players, yes. We can have plenty of greats. That’s why when asked who I think is the greatest QB ever I say I’ll give you a top 5 or 10 & they’re in no order but who is clear cut #1 is hard to say. I look at it like this, you have a team & I tell you that you get 1 of 2 QBs & I’ll flip a coin. The 2 are manning & brady, isn’t that a win-win all day long. Dan reeves can’t really think that no one works hard than tebow in the nfl & if he really truly does then that explains why he lost the super bowls he did.
I love asking this question & the answers I hear & let’s use tebow, if he had played & did the exact samething he did in college but he did it at florida st or miami would he still be as great as so many say he is? Its like say’n I can’t love a child that’s not mine, yes I can & yes I will.
I have a close friend that’s a huge gators fan & puts andrew luck down every time he hears his name & by his own addmission has never watched him play one game but somehow knows he isn’t close to what tebow is.
He says that luck has no chance at all to ever come close to equal tebow in the nfl but has only seen clips here & there of him on sports center but he knows, doesn’t believe, knows tebow is better in everyway. I always ask him to prove it? There is no proof until both of them are finished oneday in many years with the nfl & even then he’ll swear he is better no matter what happens.
We don’t know, who would’ve geussed that a player taken 199 in the draft could ever be one of the greatest QBs ever? No one did & they’re lie’n if they say they could. They could’ve lucky geussed it but no one knew. Not even the guy who did it.
My friend terry is a massive diehard packers fan & swears rodgers is the greatest QB ever but slams me when I ask what if he played & did what he does for the lions? “Go to hell jason” is what I hear, like I told her if rodgers played for the lions you say as many bad things about him as the other t.eam’s fans do thatbreak his game play down
@jason: The lack of objectivity from people is annoying to me, too. I think that sometimes when Tebow’s fans say he’s better than Brady, Peyton, Rodgers, etc, what they mean is that his stats in college &/or his 1st 3 starts in the NFL are mostly better than the guys who are considered some of the all-time best QBs. Although many of his stats are better than the best NFL QBs at this point in their careers, it’s still too early to tell how successful he’ll be in the NFL.
tim tebow is the best quarter back ever in history
