Tebow Plays Well in Final Preseason Game

The Denver Broncos fell to the Arizona Cardinals 7-26 in the final preseason game. But the score doesnt matter in the preseason anyway – all we care about is how Tim Tebow performed. Tim came into the game after halftime and finished 7 of 11 passes for 116 yards, including a 43-yard touchdown toss to Eron Riley with 2:57 to play. He also rushed the ball 1 time for 8 yards.

The video isnt the best quality, but it’s the only one I could find.

Not sure if his performance was enough to make him the true #2 or not. Coach Fox said earlier this week that both Tebow and Quinn will be listed at #2 on the depth chart. This year because of the new CBA, coaches don’t have to name a 3rd string QB.

The Broncos have a little extra time to prepare for the season opener because they play on Monday night at home vs. the Oakland Raiders.

Let’s hope Denver doesn’t repeat last year’s 59-14 beatdown from Oakland.

Regarding all the talk about Tebow’s throwing motion being to slow and elongated, well, check out the motion on his touchdown pass in the video clip from the last pre-season game. The pocket was collapsing around him, and his release was quick and high, no elongated drop motion.

Great technique on one great touchdown pass doesn’t prove all his efforts at improving his throwing motion for NFL play have succeeded, but it sure is a good sign. I suspect he’ll get better and better the more play time he sees and practice time he puts in. We all know he’s as hard a worker as they come. Remember Tim’s quote: “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work as hard”

Tim Tebow’s NFL future is a very bright one. I pray it’s in Denver, and sooner rather than later.

We all know that Danny Wuerful is close to Timmy’s heart and he is not doing well at all now. He is trying to recover from Guillain Barre Syndrome. Please remember this great Gator in your prayers.

Thought Tim did fine in this game. If the front line for Denver continues to play like they did against the Cards Tim will get to play soon because they are going to let their quarterback get killed no matter who that is! Praying for Danny.

Recap of Bronco QB’s stats & ratings after completion of 2011 preseason games:
    Orton 42 passes, 28 completions, 408 yds,66.7% completion rate 9.7 avg yds per pass, 2 TD’s, 1 interception, 104.1 Qb Rating

    Quinn, 42 – 22 completions 276yds, 52.4% completion rate, 2 interceptions,6.6yds per pass,2 TD’s 69.1% QB rating

    Tebow 31- 20 completions, 310 yds, 64.5%completion rate, 10 yds per pass, 1TD, 0 interceptions, 108.3 QB Rating

Tebow’s game numbers are the best among Denver QB’s, why then is Orton starting because he looks better in practice? It is what you do in game situations that matter & Tim is a gamer.Timm’s numbers are amazing considering he is not suppose to be able to throw a football.
