Denver vs. Tennessee – Week 3

The Denver Broncos are on the road in week 3. They play the Tennessee Titans, who are 1-1 and coming off a big time win over the Ravens. Tennessee has one of the best pass defenses through the first two weeks, but some of that is skewed because they played two bad passing teams in Jacksonville and Baltimore. Nonetheless, they should pose a challenge to the injured Broncos WR core.

What will we see from Tim Tebow on Sunday? With this coaching staff, who knows. Tim has come out and said this week that it is still his goal to be a starting QB in the NFL and he believes he will get that shot some day. But in the mean time, he is willing to do whatever is asked of him to help the team win.

I could see Tebow go out there and catch a few balls, or I could see him not getting on the field once. You just don’t know if/how they’re going to use him.

I think the Broncos will lose this game because it’s on the road. Tennessee isn’t that good, but either is Denver right now.

Post your predictions in the comment section. Who do you think will win? Do you think Tim Tebow will get to play?

I also believe we will lose… and Tim will either not play at all or get a brief meaningless role that will only leave him and his fans with a hunger to see his contributions expanded. sigh…. It’s gonna be a looong frustrating year.

I am disappointed. They put him in as a wide receiver?!?! Honestly. Tim is saying that he will do whatever he can to help his team win. And I believe that. But no one wants to see him running the routes, we want to see him throwing to the guys on the routes! By putting him in at WR, they are pretty much just duplicating last year. “Well, we’re gonna give you a chance to play, but only if Kyle Orton gets involved in a major injury.” That’s pretty much the situation for TIm right now. Some fans of Tim might say, “Oh, he’s getting to play. That’s a good sign!” No it’s not! It’s an insult. Part of it is that they have a good QB in Orton, but I bet that the other part of it is that they still don’t think that they can fully trust him.

If EFXB (management/owner) are the least bit concerned about winning any future games then they should include Tebow b/c it will be nothing short of amazing to see if they can in all actuality pull it off without him; the reason being, there are too many injured players at this point and they need someone who is a MAJOR GAME CHANGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the end goal for elway is andrew luck & no team will tank games at the start of the season but I think its in elway’s mind that with a new head coach & other factors that a very bad season can be excused. Tebow will need to find another team if he is to ever be the starting QB because I don’t see it as possible in denver & if they do end up get’n luck then its really done. Tebow needs a trade or quit to go to another team.

Well, I think there is some credence to the theory that EFX plans to “**** for Luck” (sorry, I don’t use the word used in this phrase, however, it fits the context.) Why else would Fox go for a goal line push in with Orton instead of kicking the FG? Are they too stubborn to admit they were wrong about having a package for Tebow or are they just plain stupid? The Denver Post article said Fox allowed Orton to talk him into going for the goal. Orton, clutch Orton!!! A play by Tebow was the best chance their team had to get in the endzone. Mr. Sexton, please get Timmy away from Denver.

So the columns didn’t line up right but the point is the Broncos and all their apologists who think Orton gives them the best chance at winning want to ignore the fact that Kyle is 12-20 as a Broncos starter and 6-20 in his last 26 starts. No doubt he’ll start at Green Bay next week, and the week after that at home against the San Diego Super Chargers. All the while, Tim sits on the bench. Elway blew it when he freaked out and signed Orton to an extension giving him about 9 Million to take the team to another embarrassing season record. But what the heck, it’s Pat Bowlen’s money.

Tisa that’s a cute phrase :-) ….. With that it’d be in their eyes looking to the long term future of the broncos, I’m just say’n that though as a way out there theory because no team will dump games at the begining of a season no matter what & if so we’d all know because every player wants to win & since we all know players can’t keep their mouthes shut very well one would say something about it to someone.
My reason for this idea & we’ll see how it gets in the 2nd half of the season but elway was stanford & loves luck maybe more than any other GM in the nfl cause on top of what people think about his skill sets with elway you have the fellowship of stanford QB comes to the broncos. I really thought that was in play the moment I heard elway was the broncos new GM. To state again just for the record I don’t think any game is dumped at this point for something like that but in the last 6 of the season if its close I could see it then happening.
Really the change of head coach & so on reminds me with tebow of the same way when the military abandons a project they send the main people in it to different posts just cause you just don’t fire the military personel because its not their fault someone higher up wants to go in a different direction.
Its like they want an island of misfit toys to send tebow to now & are try’n to just do something with him to keep him out of their hair, good part for tebow & his fans is that 31 other NFL teams are in the NFL.

I do have an idea of a team for tebow to go to that I think many people my like. I know our ideas don’t matter to any teams but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t speak about them anyway & as soon as I get a little more time I’ll throw it out there.

Jason, my comments are facetious!!! Good Grief!!! I actually think Fox and Elway are too stubborn and too stupid to admit that they could actually use Tebow’s help.

Perhaps Tim would do well backing up Peyton Manning in Indy. Why not learn from the best instead of watching the mediocre from the sidelines?

Thank you for the article link, David. There’s another article at BR w/a similar theme:

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/864951-tim-tebow-why-sundays-loss-proves-its-time-to-give-him-a-shot

The first lines of that article are: ‘Tim Tebow fans have just two words they need to say at this point.

    “Why not?” ‘

If the Broncos, & especially Orton, keep falling short like they have been it’s not only going to be Tebow fans who will be saying ‘Why not start Tebow?’. At some point, EFX will have to start him or risk the wrath of the fans (& tickets not being sold). I keep hoping it’s the Miami game, so Tim gets a full 2 weeks to practice w/the 1st string.

I like the final paragraph of that article, too:

‘Give the guy a shot. If the coaches are right, he’ll fall on his face. But maybe, just maybe, he’ll prove all the doubters wrong. And wouldn’t that be great?’

    Yes.

Tisa I wasn’t making fun of you or put’n down what you were say’n please don’t think that, I just don’t think tank’n the season will start on purpose yet for them, I think it will happen just not yet.

I think tebow should go to miami. FL has a strong fanbase all over the state, the dolphins love running & want to run the ball. Add a few more types of soild running backs that are good at certain types of yardage situations. Let tebow be tebow to an extent of no designed runs for him but on the 4th down or goal line times just for the reason of get’n him hit less cause that’s always a good thing, shore up some better tight ends for blocking first & look at tebow throw’n 20-25 times a game with maybe 10 of the 15+ yard distants type of throws. Also this then allows for him to do his thing 4 or 5 times a game when all has brokendown & he’ll be fresh for that. Use your backs for 8 touches each so they stay fresh. This won’t be a stat monster team but I think it could compete & well in the afc east cause the dolphins are in a world of hurt with the bills being much better & the other 2.
I think its a win-win because the dolphins wanna sell more tickets & that would help that from gators fans. Its just an idea but I think it could turn the dolphins into a 10+ win team. Its hard to have a strong work ethic in miami & tebow could give them that because all the things that distract you in miami tebow doesn’t do.
