Tim Tebow’s Total QB Rating by ESPN System

Thanks to David O. for the tip.

The Mile High Report published an article on Friday titled “The Truth About The Quarterback Competition.” Nick goes into some facts behind the Tebow vs. Orton situation. One of the key pieces of the post actually came from the comments section, where 7wombat makes note of ESPN’s new Total QB Rating system. I think you’ll find the results very interesting.

Does anyone know if ANY NFL player this past 2010 regular season, had a better Rushing TD / Rushing Attempt record of:

(6 / 43 > or a TD For Every 7.17 Rushing Attempts ) then Tim Tebow?

I wonder how well Meril Hogge did in his rookie year – He must have at least led the
league also – to have such an Elitist attitude toward Tebow at this early point in his career.

It all depends what stats you want to remember or what you want to forget in order
to get your diatribe or prejudiced agenda across.

I believe Tebow also was in pretty good relative QB company in his stats for Passing TDs per Passing Attempt compared with other quarterbacks in the league last year.

The rate you have scored touchdowns per real time rushing attempt – would seem to me an Important consideration..

Also the news ESPN has been very low key on – that their NEW TOTAL QBR rating system that Trent Dilfer and Meril hoge of ESPN have bought into and indicated is Very Important in evaluating quarterbacks>

For some reason IS NO LONGER IMPORTANT when we find that Tim Tebow’s QBR vs Kyle Ortons’ QBR Ranks: Tim Tebow at 16th in the league @ 54.3 versus Orton at 21st in league @ 46.6 .

Why is this Important Stat NEWS – now insignificant when/because it favors Tim Tebow?

Thanks for your sharing this with a greater audience – I
was just frustrated at the hypocrisy, and contradictions involved with these so-called “unbiased” personal attacks on
Tim Tebow – little which, I believe have, anything to do with his football ability!

Good post. Though I am gaining respect for Kyle Orton daily, it doesn’t rise to the level of enthusiasm. Maybe it will, maybe it won’t over time, but Enthusiasm defines my reaction to Tim Tebow. Tim has proven over and over, in college, and even in his few NFL plays and starts last year, that he is a “clutch player”. Is Orton? Not really. I wish Kyle well, but I can’t wait to see as much of Tim on the field as possible this year.

Here’s a quote Tim Tebow said in an interview a month or so ago was a motivator for him ever since grade school:

“Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work as hard”

No one she count Tim Tebow out. I for one look forward to seeing him play a great deal during pre-season, and then during the regular season as packages allow. Will he beat Kyle out for the starter spot eventually. With Tim, anything is possible.
