This time last year, Tim Tebow had the #1 selling jersey in the NFL. So one year later — where does he stand? Despite not really playing much in 2010 and looking at remaining a backup in 2011, Tebow’s #15 Denver Broncos jersey is still the 10th best selling jersey on NFLShop.com. Pretty amazing huh?
Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers came in at #1. Not a surprise really seeing how he won the Super Bowl and is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
The sales are drawn from April 1 through July 31. The fact that Tim is still in the Top 10 is a true testament to how passionate (and large) Tebow’s fan base is. I can only imagine what would happen if he won the starting job and played at an All-Pro level!
I imagine that will happen sooner rather than later…remain a dedicated Tim Tebow fan and know he will out perform anyone b/c that has always been his ongoing legacy! Guess all the misguided critics are finally going to be silenced due to what will no doubt become an eventuality!! Looking forward to more of your informative and positive commentaries on this site as it continues to be for the most part “PRO TEBOW”… THANKS!!!
GBX2/TEBOW/GATORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now Coach Fox is talking about having two #2 QB’s; this will really be interesting! GBX2/TEBOW/GATORS
Thanks for posting that, ck-I hadn’t heard that. Now that the 3rd QB rule is dead, having 2 #2 QBs might actually work.
Brooke-
Also read where none of the 1st string will play b/c they are getting ready for the game on Sept. 12th against the Raiders. Looks like Tebow and Quinn will see most of the action on Thursday against the Cardinals 1st string; hopefully, the Broncos 2nd string will step up and provide protection.
You’re right about the roster change concerning the 3rd QB rule (instead of 45 players, it will be 46 on the field in uniform). It looks like some creativity finally on the part of Coach Fox who is not going to risk disappointing Tebow’s huge fan base!!!! (Obviously, one of THE BEST Gator Coaches, Urban Meyer, was great at being creative enough to take risks and won more championships with Tebow as QB!) The game of football will never be the same b/c of Tim Tebow and that is a GOOD THING TOO!!!!! All the best to Tim on Thursday and know he will light it up!!!!! GBX2/TEBOW/GATORS
Thanks for the info, ck. GB2 & Go Gators
I don’t like the idea of Tebow and Quinn playing against the Cardinal’s first string with the Broncos Second. But since it is customary for a team to not play their first string in this last preseason game, perhaps the Cardinals won’t either.Praying for Timmy’s success and safety tonight. It will be on the NFL channel live so many will get to watch it live. GB2 and go Gators!!!
Found this quote by John A. Wed. Aug. 31st, 2011 @ 7:35 a.m. on a yahoo blog site titled: “Dolphins to honor Tebow before game vs. Broncos, wait, what?”
“Anyone who thinks Tim Tebow will not make it in the NFL or is the “3rd or 4th best” QB on Denver’s roster must not have watched the last 3 regular season games the Broncos played. As a rookie he accounted for over 300 total yards against the #1 ranked defense in the NFL (San Diego). Must be a 1-week abberation, right? Oh yea, the week before he THREW for over 300 yards, accounted for nearly 400 yards of total offense and scored the winning touchdown to cap a comeback from a 17-0 halftime deficit against Houston. AS A ROOKIE, HE was better IN EVERY STATISTICAL CATEGORY than fellow rookie Sam Bradford (and every other rookie QB in the league); look it up. QB rating, total yards per game, passing efficiency, total yards per pass, total points scored per possession, the list goes on. The haters from Merrill Hogue to the morons on this message board, would like to pretend that those games didn’t happen. They say “he’ll never be able to play in the league” when he’s already proven he can play in the league. John Elway doesn’t want the kid to steal his thunder, he, Elway, wants to be seen as the main reason for Denver’s resurgence (assuming there is a resurgence), so Tebow now has a road block within his own organization. Whenever and wherever he gets the chance to have a team of his own I’m quite sure that he’ll be the same guy he always has been, be it in the SEC or the NFL: A dominator.”
Wishing Tim continued success tonight and definitely have faith in his ability to overcome obstacles!!
GBX2/TEBOW/GATORS!!!
Tim’s jersey sales have dropped off but are still among the league’s strongest sellers. Though I believe it would be a huge mistake for Denver to trade or let Tebow go instead of start or at least develop him towards the future, if he does leave Denver for another team, and down the road does succeed as a quarterback star in the NFL, you can bet his Bronco’s jersey will appreciate in value and become a collector’s item. Just food for thought.
Go Bronco’s and Go Tebow!
A great quote that in an interview I watched Tim stated has motivated him ever since he was in grade school:
“Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work as hard”
I suggest no one count Tebow out!
Also, with the change in the rules post lock-out no longer requiring NFL teams to designate 2nd and 3rd string quarterbacks, and no longer putting limits on their playing time in any one game should the 3rd come into that game, John Fox does not have to identify if or who is the 2nd string quarterback. He simply has a starter and two backups. If you listen carefully to his words from a recent interview, he has said as much. His words also implied that whoever comes in first tonight, Quinn or Tebow, it really doesn’t mean that person is the formal backup. John Fox wants to give both backups pre-season playing time for practice.
I also think the change in the kick-off placement which is clearly already minimizing kick off returns… not eliminate but greatly diminish their numbers… we might well see a shift in personnel occur in the final roster. In the case of Denver especially, what with the Tebow situation, and both Orton and Quinn playing well so far, this could mean we see one less special teams player on the active roster and one more quarterback. Then, as long as Orton doesn’t get injured, and keeps playing well, we may well see Tebow packages during the games, and never really know who would come in as number two if Orton were injured.
Wow! Tim was the only one to put points up with a TD AND HE DID THIS WITHOUT THE #1 STRING TOO!! A winner makes things happen and that is why he will be a “DOMINATOR!!!!” GBX2/TEBOW/GATORS!!!!!
KC, you said “he will out perform anyone”. You really think that tebow is gonna out do what joe montana, terry bradshaw & tom brady have done? Its fine to pull for him & wish him the best all day long but you think it’s just a matter of time till he does more than what each of just those 3 have done? Really? I don’t mean this as mean at all but that’s delusional. You act as if no other player on earth can do anything as well as tebow. So why hasn’t he already surpassed orton to be the starter? He already has a few people he can’t out do, matt ryan & joe flacco became the starting QB in their rookie year. That’s an achievement he doesn’t & can’t have.
I have a friend who is like this & he makes out like its not possible for anyone that’s ever played football can have ever been or be better than tebow, a guy who will improve & grow in the league but so far has shown nothing that gives any backing whatsoever that he will become the greatest QB to ever play in the NFL. I’m not say’n these things with any intent on being mean or disrespectful. Its kind of a slap in the face over those greatest of all time QBs to think that all they’ve done can be easily overcome by a player that in just his second season in the NFL has not shown that he is on track in anyway to being better than what just those 3 have done. Do you know that across the board the most growth for a QB is from year 1 to year 2? Though you didn’t bring it up people do about tebows work ethic & how great it is, at the same time people tend to know little about the players in the NFL if they think players like manning & brady don’t have equaly great & ledgendary work ethics. In fact most people in the NFL consider manning & brady to have the strongest work ethics in the NFL. I geuss all the people in the NFL are wrong in everyway about those 2? Then why don’t the colts & patriots trade the QB they have to denver for tebow?
I don’t like the massive put down of the kid at all but I think its just as bad as what those people do in their put down of tebow as being so terrible that he has no chance of ever making it as it is the praise as there’s no chance in the world that tebow won’t be the greatest QB to ever play & beyond every great player that has played or still is play’n. Both extreme sides of this is equaly wrong, ill informed & by looking at the person we are talking about, false. There’s not doudt that he’s not gonna be the worst QB to ever play in the NFL & hardly any doudt that he won’t be the greatest QB to ever play in the NFL. People don’t like what’s said about tebow but at the same time cast aside what the greats have done as if every skill tebow has is better than every other QB. That’s not close to true.
I’m all for pulling for other people to better themselves & go as far as they can at whatever but why say someone can always out do anyone when that’s not true. Why didn’t tebow out do alabama in the sec championship game his last year at florida? Why didn’t tebow lead flordia to a win in every game played? My point is he has the skills to be great in time but other greats have played as well & continue to play now & they have earned that place where tebow has not earned that yet & its uncertian if he will or not. He’s not head & sholders the best talent at QB in the NFL, others have had & do have more of somethings & some less of the traits of great drive, leadership, brains, work ethic, ability & much much more. If he had better abilities at QB like some try & say he does then why didn’t many other teams draft him earlier? Why would a team pick Sam bradford over tebow? Do the people in the pros know less about talent then ever fan does? sam bradford has shown more promise than tebow has & that’s right there for anyone to see.
I don’t & won’t put tebow down & trash him but at the same time to think he can & will out do anyone else without looking honesly at his merits & the others as well is trashing many of the others, what’s right about that? In some ways I see some people going past being fans & more like being in a cult of personality because the statement of no doudt that he can out do anyone when nothing backs that at all when its been shown others have out done him thus far is less fanhood & more cult of personality. pull for him & wish him as much as you won’t & I hope he does become great but don’t ignore everything that doesn’t support what you want to be true.
Thanks as always & have a great day & tebow played very well in his 4th preseason game. Take care all.
If Fox and Elway think they are going to keep Tebow from his fans they have another thing coming…like what one fan suggested about showing them through protesting!!!!
GO TEBOW!!!!!!!!!!!
GO TEBOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can leave the number 15 on, but take the letters BRONCOS off the Jersey, and I’ll buy a couple of them.
