New Broncos Head Coach John Fox said yesterday that Kyle Orton is the team’s starter, despite Tim Tebow finishing the 2010 season as the team’s #1.
“I don’t think we’ll really figure it out until we start competing,” Fox said at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis and echoed remarks made by new Broncos football chief John Elway at the Super Bowl. “It’s a group of 3 that are very capable. Right now Kyle Orton is our starter. We have a young guy, high draft pick in Tim Tebow who got his feet wet last year toward the end of the season. And then, shoot, Brady Quinn — (a guy) I’m looking forward to seeing.”
They also said that neither Kyle Orton nor Tim Tebow are on the trade block, so the Broncos will go into the season with both guys. There’s still a lot of time left until the start of the 2011 season — if we don’t have a lockout — so just because Orton is named the starter now doesn’t mean Tim won’t start opening day. He just has to work hard and prove to the new coach that heis more capable than Orton.
Guess the fans will have the ultimate say in this…pity the Broncos higher ups if they go against a loyal base in this matter! Hopefully, all this continues to be seen for what it is; i.e., posturing and is often the case when teams do not want others to know what they are really up to!!!
I’M CERTAIN THAT TEBOW WILL ALWAYS HAVE A GREAT FUTURE NO MATTER AND THAT INCLUDES A GINORMOUS AMOUNT OF FANS GUARANTEED TO FOLLOW!!!!
