It’s not a good week for coaches who coach or have coached Tim Tebow. Florida Gators head football coach Urban Meyer announced his resignation from the position yesterday afternoon, citing wanting to be there for his family as the main reason. Tim Tebow and Urban Meyer are very close … they were like father and son during Tim’s four years at Florida.
Tim wasn’t on site during the press conference at UF – he was focusing on his duties as a Bronco – but he did release a statement through the team praising coach Meyer and everything he’s done for the University of Florida. “We will both be Gators for the rest of our lives,” Tim said.
And for those of you who are conspiracy theorists… no, Urban Meyer did not step down at Florida so he can become the next head coach of the Denver Broncos. Though, wouldn’t that be something!
Wouldn’t that be something…I would be in hog heaven if it happened!
Without readers there won’t be any writers..What better way to celebrate their presence.
I think that’s the best plan Yet..Urban Meyers should coach Tebow at Denver..Doesn’t hurt to dream and you know some Dreams Do Come True..
Urban Myer may have resigned or may have been pushed; he should have been pushed out last year. His offense contains almost no fakes or mis-perception plays, plays that fool or mislead a defense. It is much too simple and without a star such as Tebow does not work well.
He complained for six years of not having the correct players for his system and after surviving long enough to have players he recruited still did not have players to fit his system.
Spurrier changed his system to fit his players and is winning, including winning over Urban.
