Tim Tebow Will Start Week 16

Denver Broncos interim head coach Eric Studesville announced that Tim Tebow will start week 16 vs. Houston. The game is in Denver, so this will be Tim’s first start in front of the home crowd. You can bet your bottom dollar fans will turn out in droves to see him play.

“The reason right now was that we felt that Tim played well and ran our offensive effectively with the things that we asked him to do,” Studesville said in remarks distributed by the team. “Compounding that was the fact that Kyle still is rehabbing. With where he is right now, we just felt that prolonging this later into the week was not the best thing for our preparation and practice. So, we decided to make the decision earlier in the week to go and do this.

“Right now, Kyle is in about the same situation as he was last week with his injury. So, that is why we decided to make this decision early, rather than wait and hope at the end of the week because we cannot foresee what the end of the week would give us. We wanted to make sure we got a good week of preparation in and our best chance for Houston.”

Tim played good in Sunday’s loss to the Raiders, considering it’s his first career start. He joined Michael Vick and Kordell Stewart as the only three players in NFL history to have a rushing touchdown of 40+ yards and a passing touchdown of 30+ yards in the same game.

“If we’re going to put him out there, we might as well turn him loose,” Broncos WR Jabar Gaffney said, via the Denver Post. “He can throw. We just can’t handcuff him. Let him throw. Turn him loose and let him play.”

Broncos “management” is infuriating. Now that Tebow finally gets to start, Orton is crying sour grapes to the media.

I’ve seen a couple of articles (Sporting News & CBS) about Orton’s reaction to being benched. The titles of the articles made it sound like he was angry or whining, but the actual quotes from Orton weren’t like that at all. He just said the same kind of thing Tebow said earlier in the season about not starting: he’d like to be playing, but it’s not his decision to make.

I’ve become fond of Orton this year. He’s handled the hysteria that follows wherever Tim goes very well and, until he got injured a few weeks ago, was also playing well.

  4. Greetings to all, I consider myself a fan of good articles, this blog is very good, has a great personality, is very original, very comprehensive, usually has very good features, for that reason I will recommend to my friends, I think when you find a good article must be shared.
