Tim Tebow vs. Tennessee Titans – Week 4

Week 4 of the NFL is upon us. My how the time moves by so quickly. It feels like just last week we were talking about Tim Tebow playing in the preseason. The 1-2 Denver Broncos are away this week against the Tennessee Titans, who are 2-1. The game is scheduled for 1:00 PM EST kickoff and the weather is going to be a perfect 65 degrees and sunny. Perfect football weather.

If you don’t live in an NFL market and you’re out in the Midwest (like Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, New Mexico, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho etc) then you will get to watch this game on TV. Of course those of you in Colorado and Tennessee will get to see it too on CBS.

Tennessee has a pretty stout defense. They are ranked 5th in the NFL in passing yards allowed with only 178.3 yards given up per game. And they are ranked 17th against the rush – giving up 116.3 yards per game. The Broncos have struggled a bit on the ground, so this might be a good chance for them to rack up the yards and work the clock.

It looks like Tim Tebow will be listed as the 3rd string QB again, making him inactive until the 4th quarter – unless starter Kyle Orton or backup Brady Quinn get injured. It sucks not getting to watch Tim play, but we have to assume McDaniels is doing the right thing by sitting him out and letting him work the playbook. We’ll see Tim in due time – no team sits a first round pick forever.

I saw a poll on the Broncos message board asking if the Broncos should start the Tebow era now. Here are the results:

I get pretty frustrated out here in Denver since they aren’t playing Tim. I hear all the “yes, but Kyle is a perfect quarterback” and “Brady has more experience.” But the Bronco’s aren’t winning, are we? And Kyle has the personality of milk-toast (bless his heart). Folks out here have forgotten what it’s like to win with a dynamic quarterback. Last time that happened, it was Elway!

yeah i agree they need to start tebow cause at lesast they would be wining alot more games then they are now. i think that with a little more play time then tebow will be ready to start full time but you cant expect him to sit on the sidelines and not play but yet learn everything and then when its his time to start then be perfect it just doesnt work that way he needs to have at least one quarter per game where he plays not just 2-3 snaps and thats it you cant judge a players ability based on that. denver needs to play tebow more……

Orton played a very good game today and proved he could come through when the pressure was on. If Orton keeps playing like he did today (and frankly he gets better every game)…I’m beginning to wonder if Tebow’s future is in Denver.

Sadly, I agree MS. Orton’s having a Pro Bowl year.
