I received an email from Rexcrisanto L. Delson, author of the blog Writings by an American Igorot. He wrote a blog post on Tuesday about how Tebow is perceived by Filipinos and how they are so appreciative for the kind of person he is. As you may know, Tim was born in the Philippines and spends time every year visiting and doing missionary work with his family.

I didn’t know much about this guy, but now I am a fan! Thanks for posting. GO TEBOW!
Tim came to my attention this year when i was lazily reading articles on the 2010 draft. I was compelled to learn about him beyond his football accolades when i observed how he seemed so centered and possessed wisdom beyond his years. After the tumultous journeytime to the draft, not once did he lose his composure to all those unnecesary negativity surrounding him. Coming from the Philippines, i could say i’m more well versed in basketball but i am extremely amazed by this person who is intent on living a life of gratitude. It’s no surprise that Filipinos and fans from all over the world feel a sense of kinship with him.
