Tebow Absent From Week 2

The Denver Broncos game was not televised in my area yesterday, so I hope this info is correct. If not, please post a comment. But from doing some research and looking at the stat lines it appears Tim Tebow was absent from the Broncos home opener yesterday vs. the Seattle Seahawks. The Box score doesn’t show any stats and the NFL.com play-by-play sheet doesn’t mention his name. Maybe Tim went out on the field as a receiver or lined up in the backfield and the Broncos just didn’t give him the ball??

I am surprised though that the Broncos wouldn’t give Tim an opportunities in front of the home crowd. The were up 17-0 at halftime, so it’s not like the Broncos were playing from behind and in some pass-only situation. Denver ended up winning the game 31-14 and moved to 1-1 on the season.

I do still have some pictures of Tim at the game, and some fans who came out to support their favorite player.

You are correct b/c Tim was on the sidelines and the only QB to play was Orton! Great game, but thought they would have at least let him in on the 4th quarter as they shut out the Seahawks in the first half of the game!! We were fortunate to see the game on Fox and wished that Tebow would have played. Thanks for the pix too! GBx2/ck

We followed the game on Gamecast on ESPN’s web site. It shows a field and how the teams move on the field. Then a couple sentences tell the detail of the play. Tim’s name we not mentioned. We felt sure he would be put in the game and were very disappointed. I thought they would want him to get some experience in a game. The Houston Cougars lost their QB and their backup QB in their game yesterday due to injuries. Their starting QB is out for the season!!! It does happen!

To the owner and coaches of the Denver Broncoes:

Fans an supporters are not buying the Denver Broncos’ football tickets to come to watch the hiesman-winning quarterback, Tim Tebow, sit on the bench! I know that you’ve got to do the right thing by giving the quarterback starting position to Kyle Orton; but, remember, the NFL is all about the money! Like his Jerseys, Tim Tebow is the drawing card, not Kyle Orton! You keep this nonsense up and your team will be playing only the bleachers! Fans, and myself, don’t give a damn about those other quarterbacks–only Tim Tebow! If you don’t believe me just continue to let Tim Tebow sit on the bench–allowing him to make only brief appearances in the game. That’s our idol; and we demand to see him play!

Thanks. Sir Leonard – Atlanta, GA

Maybe everyone who visits this site thinks the NFL works like amateur, college level football, or that all fans are like football fans in Jacksonville Florida, but this definitely isn’t the case. The Denver Broncos have sold out every single home game they’ve had since the 1960′s. Tebow’s presence (or absence) makes no difference. He is a small fish in a big pond these days.

As a life long Denver resident and fan, I can tell you that the addition of Tebow to the roster is seen as nothiong more than an exciting possibility. Personally, I’m optimistic about Tebow. I’d love to see him develope into as big of a star in the NFL as he was in college because that means more wins for Denver.

Tebow might be a God in Florida, but in Denver he’s just football player. This is the team that Elway built. It takes a lot for Denver fans to be impressed with a quarterback.

Right now, Tebow is small potato’s.

We could only “watch” through Red Zone in our area and kept hoping for a glimpse of our superman though I concede that Orton did a fine job. When we don’t get to see Tim play its more than a little consolation to see some photos of him on game day and on the side lines. THANK YOU THANK YOU for the great pics. I searched websites forever to find some!!

  6. Ryan says:

I understand not putting him in there throwing at random times but I was surprised they didn’t run him on some 3-1 or goal with 1 to go. Let him play some. We all know he can get a yard. Couldn’t of at least given him a shot at the goal line with 1 to go to get his first NFL TD in frnt of the home crowd? Come on McD. I don’t think he should be starting but use your first round pick for SOMETHING.

To Jake: I am not as naive as Sir Leonard ( His statements are rediculous.) but I take issue with the fact that you choose to paint all the folks in Florida with the same brush. As far as your statement about Denver fans and quarterbacks, if you are impressed with Kyle Orton as a quarterback, then you are easily impressed. Florida fans are very hard to impress- after all Tim Tebow was our quarterback. You also don’t know anything about SEC football and our expectations for excellence. If you did you wouldn’t puff yourself up as some kind of judge of what we should think. I am not in favor of Tim playing until the team gets its act together. I am writing this after the Raven game. There’s no offence, no defence, Just throwing balls in between the 20′s. We’re just not used to seeing that sort of football from a team that Tebow is on and that goes back to Pop Warner.
