The Denver Broncos travel to Cincinnati for their first preseason game against the Bengals on August 15th. I will bring you a detailed game preview later in the week. But for now I wanted to let you know that the Broncos released their depth chart for this game and Tim Tebow is listed as third, behind Kyle Orton and Brady Quinn.
This isn’t a big deal – it’s expected that most rookie quarterbacks start at the bottom of the depth chart for the first preseason game. This means that Tim will get a lot of playing time (almost 2 quarters) and will get to face lesser competition (will help him build confidence).
Over the next four preseason games, Tim will have ever chance to prove he’s worth moving up the depth chart.
Depth chart is used to show the placements of the starting players and the secondary players.Tim Tebow is one great quarterback of Denver Broncos and many fans are waiting for his play.
This current depth chart has a few discrepancies on it; it truly means nothing. I’m not worried at all.
I saw the Invesco practice on Aug. 7 and Tebow looked MUCH better than Brady Quinn. Quinn looked tentative in many of his decisions not to mention inaccurate in others. He had a couple of decent throws, but that’s about it.
Tebow, however, looked GREAT! He had many sharp passes in the 11 on 11 drills. It’s easy to see (so far, anyway) that he plays much better than he practices. Some players are just that way, no big deal. That’s why they have preseason games, after all, to see how players do when the lights come on.
Has anyone read if we Bronco fans in Tampa Bay or Central Fla. will be able to see any of the game Sun. evening from Cincinnati, OH? I receive HD channels from Brighthouse Cable Co. but they have not signed a contract to receive the NFL channel. I called Brighthouse last evening and they have not come to an agreement with the NFL folks!!! Maybe it will be streamed on ESPN’s web site. Any information would be appreciated.
I’m going to this game just to watch Tim play. So excited to FINALLY see him play!

Brighthouse’s deal with ESPN ends on Sept 4th here in Orlando and the NFL Network is DirectTV ONLY – and always has been. Also, The Denver – Cincinnati game will not be nationally televised anyhow. Since you did not know about the NFL Network DIrectTV contract, I’m guessing you’re new to NFL football (at the very least) so allow me to explain that NFL games are televised based on what NFL market you live in. If you’re in Tampa, you live in the same market that I do. You’ll see every Tampa Bay Buccaneers game, likely all of the Miami Dolphins games and most of the Jacksonville Jaguars games. If none of those 3 teams are playing in a certain time slot and the network (CBS and/or FOX) is playing a double header (which they will on Sundays come the regular season) you will see a game that’s close to your market (for you, another East Coast team). There are only 2 nationally televised games per week, that’s NBC’s Sunday Night Football (kickoff between 8 & 830 Sunday nights during the regular season) and ESPN’s Monday Night Football (kickoff between 8 & 830 Monday nights during the regular season). The only times you will see Denver (and Tebow) televised in the Florida market will be week1 when Denver comes to Jacksonville for sure and if/when they play on either Sunday and/or Monday nights. Other than that, you’ll have to get lucky if the CBS (the AFC affiliate) plays a Denver an East Coast team during a slot where there are no Dolphins or Jags game. Or that Denver plays an NFC East Coast team during a time slot where FOX (the NFC affiliate) doesn’t have a Buccaneers game. Again these last 2 scenarios aren’t guaranteed. If Denver plays Baltamore and the Patriots are playing the Jets (for example) the station will likely broadcast the Patriots vs Jets because it’s division rivals and it will have playoff implications.
Hope that helps those of you new to NFL football TV scheduling
@Vera: I would suggest going over to zap2it.com & looking up what your listings for that day will be in your area. You can do that by putting your zip code in the box on the upper right of the page, then clicking the TV LISTINGS button under it. That should take you to a page where you choose your cable provider. That will give you your listings. The game’s being shown in Denver on a CBS channel, so I’d try looking at your CBS channel first. You can also get your local listings from tvguide.com.
If it’s not on your cable provider in your area, maybe you can ask someone you know to record it for you?
@ Brooke no, in Central FL they’re not showing the Bronco’s game. They’re showing it in Denver because it’s local and it’ll be your local CBS news crew doing the game, not the usual CBS Sports announcers….
This is NOT a nationally televised game folks!
@A: It’s done by a local crew, but-like the other preseason games-it’s going to be shown on the NFL Network. That’s how I’ll be watching it & I don’t have DirecTV.
@Vera: supposedly, the game will be able to be watched online for free at the following website:
http://nfllivestream.com/
However, the site hasn’t worked everytime I’ve tried it. I found out about it here:

@Vera: Never mind. After re-reading that ad, it seems like they have some software you have to download. Sounds dubious. And the site’s still not working, anyway.
