Carrying on with our theme this week of posting fan mail, our next story comes from a Florida State Seminole fan. This is the second story we’ve received of a Seminole fan becoming a fan of Tim Tebow – I wonder how many Gator fans out there are fans of Christian Ponder You can read the first Seminole fan story here.
This one is from Karah M.
At first I really didn’t like Tim Tebow, what self-respecting FSU fan would? He was bad news for us. So I was determined not to like him, then there was that whole “promise” thing that I kept hearing about from my best friend and her husband, both die hard gators. So I listened. Ok, you’ve got my respect, still doesn’t mean I like you.
Then there was the Heisman with it’s backstory video and speech. Ok so you’re a man a faith. I like that. But do you practice what you preach? I’m interested enough to watch. He does walk the walk and talk the talk. Ok so he’s not such a bad guy even if he does play for that other team. The more I watched, the more I became a fan and even found myself rooting for him, not the gators, just Timmy, which by extension means the gators but that’s semantics.
The draft was going to be interesting. I’ll admit I don’t follow the NFL as closely as college football, probably the effects of growing up in a college town, but I do have my NFL team, which just so happens to be the Broncos. I remember growing up watching John Elway back when, and I got hooked. No I don’t have to worry about dirty looks from my fellow FSU fans when I cheer because thanks to the draft Timmy became a Bronco and was on ‘my’ team, finally. And that folks is how an FSU fan became a Tebow Fan (not gators, just Tebow).
At least Karah admitted she didn’t like Tim Tebow to start with
