David Former Super Bowl winning head coach Jon Gruden invited Tim Tebow down to Tampa (I believe) for his Quarterback Camp. Gruden invites a lot of the top college quarterbacks to workout with him and then he reports on their NFL potential and ability. He puts each player through dozens of footwork and passing drills. ESPN caught the whole thing on video but unfortunately they didn’t enable embedding on the video – so you’ll have to watch it here.
Jon Gruden has always been a fan of Tim Tebow. He’s been singing his praises for several years now – never backing down on his claim Tim would be a first round draft pick. “Somebody with a down-the-road philosophy or vision for him will take him, and take him earlier than some people expect,” Gruden said.
Jon was impressed with Tim’s commitment to be better, his personal drive and off the field character.
“Nothing really surprises me other than there are a lot more doubters than maybe I expected,” Gruden said. “Tim’s transition to more of a conventional NFL style has drawn a lot of questions from people, whether he can make the modifications in his passing delivery and adapt to playing under center. … What I’m really impressed with is the way he sits on the edge of his chair and his work ethic and relentlessness to become great is really second to nobody.”
