The 2010 NFL Draft Week is finally here. We are just 4 days away from the first round – broadcasted live in primetime on ESPN this Thursday night. This is a moment Tim Tebow has been waiting for for a long time. It’s finally his time for his dream of playing football in the NFL to come true. One lucky team will pick Tim and immediately gain a legion of fans. Will it be the Jaguars – a local team Tim grew up following? Will it a northern team like Buffalo? Or could it be a team as far from Florida as possible – the Seattle Seahawks?
Let’s take a look at some of the top NFL Mock Draft websites and see where they have Tim going.
Walter Football – 3rd round – They have Tim Tebow going to the Jacksonville Jaguars with the number 74 pick overall. I don’t see Tim lasting this long at all, but for the Jags it would be a dream scenario.
New NFL Draft – 2nd round – They have Tim Tebow going to the Buffalo Bills with the number 41 pick overall. If Tim slips out of the first round, Buffalo will be in prime position to grab him with their 2nd round pick. Buffalo is one of the teams that flew Tim Tebow in for a private sit down and workout at their facility.
My NFL Draft – 2nd round – They have Tim Tebow going to the Carolina Panthers with the number 48 pick overall. The Panthers did release long time QB Jake Delhomme this offseason and have all their hopes riding on Matt Moore. They’ll definitely want to bring in a backup just in case Moore doesn’t work out.
Draft Countdown – 1st round – One of the few mock drafts I’ve seen that has Tim Tebow in the first round. They have Tim going to the Minnesota Vikings with the #30 pick overall. I can definitely see Tim in Purple and gold, plus reunited with fellow Gator Percy Harvin.
So basically Tim is all over the board – mocks have him anywhere from the 1st to 3rd round. I don’t think any player in NFL history has been like this before… where no one knows where to rank him. Will you be watching the NFL Draft this Thursday? Post a comment and let me know.
I saw this on bleacher report a couple days ago. I grew up in Buffalo, then moved to Florida for high school-so this would be a dream situation for me: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/380166-2010-nfl-mock-draft-final-edition-where-do-tebow-and-clausen-land
Won’t be watching the draft because I’ve got a grad school class Thursday night and Tim won’t be in NY anyways. If he doesn’t get picked on Thursday you can bet I’ll be watching Friday.
(I’ll definitely be refreshing my browser every 30 second during class though)
Actually, they just had Goddell (?) on the DP show, according to him Tim’s decline to the draft was not definite. Perhaps it was because Dan asked about Jimmy Clausen before that, but according to Goddell’s own wording, the decline is not definite as of 0930 today.
what site do we go to in order to know who’s drafted when.. espn.com, nfl.com.. anyone got a link? jon, shame on you.. checking on the draft during class. jk.
If you’re talking about the draft order, here’s this year’s draft order:
http://walterfootball.com/nfldraftorder2010.php
If you mean where players were drafted AFTER the draft, I imagine that same site might have it. If not, then I’d try wikipedia.
Thanks for that info about Tebow not declining the invitation yet, Laura. (I emailed you about that, David-guess you didn’t get it.)
I know Tim won’t do this-& probably wouldn’t even be allowed to do this-but I’d love it if he never publicly announces whether or not he’s going to the Draft & just suddenly shows up w/the huge group of people he’s talked about bringing. The announcers would go nuts. ‘Ladies and gentlemen, Tim Tebow has arrived! He is in the building!’. LOL.
jon said he was going to be refreshing his browser every 30 seconds so i was wondering exactly what site he’ll be checking out…thanks brooke
The obvious site to check during the draft just occurred to me: nfl.com.
Another site suggestion:
