Over the weekend, Tim Tebow was visited by someone from Washington D.C. – no he wasn’t in regards to the Health Care debates. Washington Redskin’s head coach Mike Shanahan flew down to Gainesville, Florida for a private workout with Tim Tebow. You may recall that Shanahan is a former Florida Gators football assistant coach. The Redskins have the 4th overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft… I highly doubt they would use their first pick on Tebow, but if here’s there in the second round that might be a good spot for the team to select him.

Coach Shanahan has said over the past few months that he really likes their current quarterback, Jason Campbell. But like all first year head coaches, he’ll want to bring in a quarterback of his own and that just might be Timmy. The Redskins could select him in the second round and then let Tim learn the offensive system as a backup for 2 years before being placed into the starting role.

The Denver Post says:

Shanahan likes his quarterbacks smart, he likes them mobile and he usually likes them with a little more arm strength than Tebow has shown. But Shanahan also believes in the intangibles of the quarterback position — how a guy works, how a guy leads, how a guy reacts with the game on the line and the pressure on his shoulders.

Will the Redskins be his team? Only a month until we find out.
