Tim Tebow, NFL Linebacker?

A local radio guy in Jacksonville, Florida (Tom McManus) has said several times on his show that he believes Tim Tebow could become one of the first true duel position NFL players. He doesn’t quite think Tim has what it takes to be a Pro Bowl caliber quarterback but just loves the intensity, strength and toughness Tim has. McManus played middle linebacker for the Jaguars back in the mid 90s and thinks Tim has potential to play at that position.

There’s no doubt that Tim can hit… in fact, more times than not he will purposely look for someone to run over rather than running out of bounds or sliding. When you’re playing linebacker you don’t have to worry about anything but tackling the opposing players. I know there is technically more to it than that, but you get the point.

So I’ve set up a poll to see how many of you think Tim Tebow could make it as a linebacker in the NFL. A team will draft Tim to be a quarterback in this league, and they’ll give him a shot… but do you think Tim could be used as like a wildcat QB and a situation linebacker? A true duel position player.

Picture it now – Tim Tebow lining up as a backer then Percy Harvin comes running a route across the middle of the field and BOOM … Tebow lights him up, flattens Percy right there on the field.

Will the Broncos beat the Steelers?
