The Senior Bowl was on Saturday afternoon. The weather was freezing cold and the game was played in front of a sold out crowd (40,646) in Mobile’s Ladd-Peebles Stadium. The North (not Tim Tebow‘s team) ultimate won the Senior Bowl by a final score of 31-13.
The South started the game with the first possession. Tim Tebow was the starter and led the team to a first down, but ultimately had to punt after he threw a couple of incomplete passes. Tim played in 4 other series during the 3rd and 4th quarter. He finished the game 8-12 for 50 yards passing and was sacked 1 time – he also had one turnover, a fumble on a running play.
When you look at Tim’s performance in his first pro offense setting it doesn’t look too pretty. Remember though, he was playing with strep throat and the players only had like 4 days of practice. It takes a lot of time to build chemistry with your center and receivers. What do you think of Tim’s performance in the Senior Bowl? Post a comment and let me know.
Tim’s next chance to impress college scouts will come at the Gator Pro Day (in March I believe) and at the NFL Combine. There’s no doubt in my mind he will be off the charts at those two days.
I tried looking for videos of the Senior Bowl, but they were hard to find. All I could find was this video of Tim doing pre-game stretches.
When Tebow was diagnosed w/strep earlier in the week, that was a misdiagnosis. He actually has a viral infection of the esophagus-something much more serious than strep throat-and hasn’t been able to eat for much of this week, b/c it hurts too much to do so:

As for his play at the SB, it was probably the worst I’ve ever seen him look. His NFL transition is going to take time, but that was always a given.
He will make it and succeed like he ALWAYS does! I was at the game, but he didn’t do horrible. You could just tell he wasn’t himself. I met a man that works with the Senior Bowl at a practice in Mobile. He said that ALL the NFL scouts were intersted in Tim. I just thought that was awesome! Just think! In April NFL scouts and coaches will be fighting over our Tim Tebow!
I was a little disappointed w/ tims performance but he will succeed because he is tim tebow
I still believe in Tim Tebow. It is very important to remember that he is very sick……. and that he had very little practice time. I remember when I was a junior in highschool going to volleyball nationals with something rather like strep throat, and my game was terrible. Don’t judge him to harshly on this game. It wasn’t, I can guarantee, his best…….
