We have finally reached the week of the Senior Bowl. Tim Tebow is in Mobile, Alabama right now practicing with the other college football seniors. The 2010 Under Armour Senior Bowl is scheduled for Saturday, January 30, 2010, in Mobile’s Ladd-Peebles Stadium. Kickoff is at 4pm ET and the contest will be nationally-televised by NFL Network. We already know that this game has broken ticket sales records, so I would assume that it will break television viewership records too – all because of Tim Tebow.
“The fact that Tim Tebow is coming here and willing to expose himself to this kind of scrutiny, I think, speaks volumes to the type of kid that he is,” Mike Mayock (an NFL analyst) said. “Here’s a guy that’s arguably the best football player that ever played college football. Yet most NFL scouts will probably put him in the third round. He’s got some major issues here, but he’s so impressive a kid and those intangibles are so high.”
The players with go through their first weigh-ins and have practice today in front of hundreds of NFL scouts and coaches. It will be nerve racking for all of the guys. Your Senior Bowl performance can make or break you. We’ve seen guys sky rocket up the draft charts and we’ve seen guys fall.
“Coach Meyer called me last night and he said, ‘Promise me one thing: Just be you and you’ll be fine.’” Tebow said Sunday. “I’m just going to be me. I’m going to be excited, I’m going to be passionate, I’m going to have fun. I’m going to love playing the game out there, just like I always have. Hopefully the coaching staffs and the owners and general managers will just like me.”
Tebow also said that he is practicing only at the quarterback position while in Alabama for the Senior Bowl. In the past we’ve seen guys like Drew Bennett, Matt Jones and Zach Miller move from the QB position to the TE/WR position at the Senior Bowl to show scouts they can play multiple positions. Not Tim though.
“I’m here to be an NFL quarterback,” he said.
Do you plan on watching the Senior Bowl? Post a comment and let me know.
I’ll be there to cheer him on! I am confident he will not disappoint and I hope his favorite target, Cooper, does well too.
“Do you plan on watching the Senior Bowl?”
You’re kidding, right? LOL. I’m not only going to be watching the Senior Bowl, I’m going to be watching the SB practices & NFL Network’s other SB coverage all this week. For anyone else that’s interested, here’s the NFL Network’s schedule:

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for saying something positive about a kid who tries so hard to bring something positive to the rest of us! We will watch the Super Bowl and are very excited about his commercial! Enough with the Janet Jackson blunders! GO TIM!
I am going to a practice tommorrow and will be going to the senior bowl. Also, at yesterday’s practice, the media asked him about Janell Wheeler. “No, that is not my girlfriend,” he said.
Tim is a jerk. Next time he gets he is raped and find out he is with child then he can speak for me. I am glad we live in a free country with the freedow of choice. I am glad he was not born during the fight for women’s rights.
