Tim Tebow – SEC Championship Game

The No. 1 Florida Gators and the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide meet tomorrow in Atlanta to battle for the 2009 SEC Championship. What a game this is going to be. Florida is led by senior QB and Heisman Trophy Winner Tim Tebow – one of the most dangerous players in college football. Tim has the ability to beat you in the arm and run you over on the ground.

Alabama is familiar with Tim Tebow though. They got a healthy dose of him in last years’ SEC Championship Game – a game in which Florida won 31-20. In that game Tim was 14/22 for 216 yards and 3 touchdowns plus 57 yards on the ground. I remember a throw he made to Louis Murphy down the sideline that was just incredible. Without Percy Harvin in that game, it was up to Tim to put the team on his back and carry them to victory. He did just that.

Tim Tebow will face similar circumstances tomorrow afternoon as the Gators try to win back to back SEC Championships. The Florida Gator receivers just aren’t as good as they were last year and the offensive line has struggled lately at protecting Tim in the pocket. This year we could see a different type of game – maybe a defensive struggle. Something like we saw against LSU earlier in the year.

For the Gators to win Tim must protect the football. He’s only thrown four interceptions all year, but he has fumbled it a few times while trying to gain that extra yard. Always going full speed until he hits the gorund is part of Tim’s mentality – it’s how he plays the game. But against a team like Alabama, we can afford no mistakes.

Urban will approach the game with a balanced offense planned. A healthy dose of Tim Tebow and guys like Demps/Rainey. Tim knows what needs to be done to win the game and we all expect him to do it. I’m predicting something like a 21-10 Gator win. What do you think?

Go Gators!

I just want to say a word, or maybe several words of thanks to Tim Tebow for the joy he has provided me as a football fan and human for the past three years. His idiotic and stereotypical fundamentalist wearing of scriptural references under his eyes provided me with alternating bouts of hysteria and disgust. His robotic speeches and responses to questions led me to marvel at the skill of his handlers in programming someone so thoroughly. Yes, Tebow, over the years, i grew sick at the sight of you, those eye patches, the suggestion that you and that amazingly voluptuous woman you date never had sex, wearing religion on your sleeve as if it somehow elevated you to a goodness none of the rest of us (meaning non-believers) could possess. Yes, Tebow, you were disgusting. I’ll give you tough. You took some shots. But then you cried. You cried when you should have manned up to having your butt beat. Well, ‘bow, the Heisman just flew away. I bet you the NFL just took a step back. Too bad you weren’t bright enough to earn some sort of post grad (you are graduating on time aren’t you?) scholarship like my friend Myron Rolle because running missions in Africa may be wonderful but it won’t keep that babe in the jewels all Christians expect at Christmas. Sayonara, not sorry to see ya go.

Major Alabama fan here, but I can appreciate how Tebow plays. He messed up a few times but it was not his fault that the Gators lost. The defense better pick up the ball. No pun intended.
