Tim Tebow said farewell to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Saturday evening. He did it with style – a 37-10 victory over the Florida State Seminoles, a game in which Tim accounted for five touchdowns. Reading all the notes on Facebook from my friend’s, everyone was saying this was the best game they’ve ever been to and so much fun. Watching it on TV, I could see thousands upon thousands of camera flashes going off as the game approached Tim Tebow’s final snap.
Tim finished the game 17-21 for 221 yards passing with 3 touchdowns and 15 carries for 90 yards with 2 touchdowns. Aaron Hernandez took two of the Tim Tebow touchdown passes, while roommate Riley Cooper caught the third one on a 39 yard pass into the end zone. It was a great all already performance by Tim. The lone mistake he made was a fumble – but it only came after he was stiff arming the crap out of an FSU defense for about 15 yards.
As Tim ran around the stadium for his victory lap, here’s what he had to say : “Just saying thank you to all the fans and not get too emotional about it,” Tebow said. “My relationship with the fans is great. One reason is ’cause I’m such a passionate Gator fan. I care so much about this university and this team because I’m such a big fan. They know I appreciate them.”
For the game, Hebrews 12:1-2 was Tim Tebow’s Eye Black. Here’s what it means:
1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
I want to encourage people to send us your thought sand well wishes for TIm Tebow has he leads to the forward into the SEC Championship, and hopefully the BCS Championship game. Please contact us and we’ll post your messages here.
That game was probably one of the most emotional games ever! as soon as I saw Tim run out of that tunnel I cried like a little girl. He is such an amazing person and we all want him to stay at the swamp forever. His athleticism is going to expand, its time for him to continue preaching and playing at a higher level. I wish him all the best in what is ahead whether it may be NFL or Missonary work. God has truly blessed him in such a way and I feel so proud to be a gator!
