The Florida Gators remained No. 1 in the BCS standings to a 29-19 win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The Gators, including quarterback Tim Tebow, once again did not play well on offense. They struggled to move the ball downfield and didn’t convert well in the end zone. Urban Meyer admitted in the post game interview that he put Tim in some very tough spots, but in the end it’s the players that have to make the plays not the coaches. “I did not coach well tonight,” Meyer said. “I put Tim in some tough situations. As an offense, we’re not well right now.”
Tim Tebow was 12-22for 127 yards and 2 interceptions. Both of his interceptions were returned for touchdowns by Jonathan Banks. Tim also added 88 yards rushing, including a 26 yard scramble that gave him his 49th rushing touchdown of his career – tying Herschel Walker for the SEC all-time record. Check the 1:20 mark in the video below for the scramble.
Tim Tebow’s Eye Black for the Mississippi State game was Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
So another game has come and gone – and another victory for the Gator defense. I don’t know what the heck is going on with the offense, but they need to get in sync fast. The Gators have the annual Florida vs. Georgia game in Jacksonville this coming weekend and they’re going to need to score some points.
What did you think of Tebow’s performance against Miss. State?
