Tim Tebow Concussion

What a game against Kentucky. Gator fans across the world had a brief scare as Tim Tebow was brutally hit by a unblocked Kentucky pass rusher. Tim never saw the guy coming. He was hit hard in the chest and knocked back. On his way down the back of Tebow’s helmet collides with the knee of a Gator offensive lineman causing a whiplash-like effect on Tim’s neck. It looked horrible.

Tebow was instantly knocked unconscious and did not move for quite a few minutes. You could see his feet move a little and he was breathing hard so we knew he wasn’t paralyzed. The entire Gator team took the field and surrounded him. When the cameras panned to the crowd you could tell everyone was in a state of shock, fear and helplessness. The police even escorted Tebow’s parents down the the sideline so they could see their son.

Tim suffered a severe concussion and was taken to the hospital for tests and precautions. It’s common for concussion victims to stay overnight in the hospital. What a rough few days for Superman. After battling the flu he goes he gets a concussion.

Here’s the video for those of you who missed it.

This was so sad to watch, I almost cried. They just kept replaying it over and over again. I just really hopes he’s okay and he’s in my prayers. Thank goodness it’s a bye week next week, I really think it’s a gift from God! I read this article with an interview with Urban Meyer and he said while Tim was laying on the field he went up to him and held his hand and Tim’s first question was if he managed to hold on to the ball as he went down. Then Coach Meyer said isn’t it great to be a Florida Gator? Tim smiled, winked and replied it sure is.

  2. Cheryl Davis Knapp, RN BSN says:

I pray the entire Tebow Family will insist on enough time to fully recover. A comcussion of any kind means ” a traumatic brain injury”. Your brain is like Jello and when the brain is battered back and forth the hard surface of the skull it gets badly bruised, torn and swollen. Nerve connections can be severed or stretched. Watched it with Mark Brunell. It’s not a quick or easy recovery. And it has lifetime effects. It’s not just a little bump on the head people. Check out info on the Ontario Brain Injury Institute. Our best people are in Dallas. Good luck to the team and may God help Tim.

  3. john buckel says:

It was only a matter of time before this would happen. The NCAA and the coaching staff are the ones responable for the results of Tim getting hurt. Homefully Tim will be ok. For those who do not understan football, are its reasons for this hit in the game. Its simple, the system in place forces teams to run up scores, the media blows things way out of proportions. The results, a player who is sick and should not be playing is forced to play. The player will want to play when he should not and the dumb coach lets him. running up a game score and a game rating is all to wrong and not sporting. So Ironic when you consider the efforts being put forth this year to create sports men ship. The teams and big players like tim will be a hero for the media and fans. The other team will stop at nothing to hurt a singled out player like Tim , so this is the results. Hopefully Tim will be ok we all want him well. This will not be his last hit I am sure someone else will take his head off in the next SEC game Its the results of a failed NCAA system and its all about MONEY. Good luck Tim and God Bless.I want you ready for the LSU game in tiger stadium hopefully my Tigers will beat you and your dumb coach we look forward to the oppounity so get well.

  4. David says:

@John – No one is responsible for Tim’s injury (except maybe the left tackle that missed the block). It was a clean hit and Tim was just unfortunate that there was someone knee right behind him. If Tebow gets hit and goes straight to the ground, then he gets up without a problem. It’s just bad luck that the Gator RT was standing behind him with his knee bent at the perfect angle.

  5. Andrea W. says:

Praying for a full recovery. That was a nasty hit. And as much as the Gators need Tim, they have a great back up QB in Brantley. Hopefully they will let the necessary time go by to allow him to heal and not try to force things in time for the LSU game.

Gosh, I’m almost in a depressed state just waiting to hear his prognosis. God bless you Tim Tebow, you are the reason I became a Gator……….

  6. Arvin Borkar says:

I was at this game in the University of Kentucky student section. I do admit I was cheering against Florida when this happened to Tebow but now I very much regret doing it. I tried to meet him today at the University of Kentucky medical center since I live in Lexington. His room is apparently private so I could not. I hope he gets better as I do enjoy seeing him play even though I do not go to the University of Florida. God bless you Tebow and I am sorry it had to happen.

Tim, if you read these messages, please know that this Georgia Bulldog Fan and her husband hope you get better soon. We love to watch you play and have a lot of respect for you on and off the field. We send our prayers to you for a full recovery so we can watch you play in JAX when we meet up again. God Bless and take care. -Mary and Stephen

  9. FRUiTS punch says:

It was very rattling to see that (quite a few times given the replays). My prayers are with him and his family and hopefully he can take it easy this coming week and rest up.

  10. Jonathan Grooms says:

Gamecock for Tebow! Tim Tebow’s life is a blessing to all that love college football. I love watching him play football – even to the point of pulling for the Gators (my 4 yo is even doing the Gator chomp for goodness sakes). Yet, what is most amazing about Tebow is his extraordinary accomplishments off the field and he serves as a great role model to us all – his ‘never say die’ attitude, the respect he shows towards others and his life of servitude. God bless Tim Tebow and his family. We are praying that God grants him a speedy and complete recovery and we can again enjoy his rare and phenomenal talent.

  11. Caroline says:

@John-Tim would play no matter what. Once in highschool he played with a broken fibula(they didn’t know it was broken at the time). He will find a way to play because that’s who Tim is. My friend’s brother just got a level two concussion like Tim and he’s almost fully recovered after a week. Florida has a bye week so Tim will have enough time to recover and I’m sure he’s anxious to get back on the field to play.

  12. Jeanne D says:

I’ve never read or owned a Bible, but always curious enough to check out Tim’s face-paint-scripture. Yesterday’s was new and after visiting ‘bible online’ early into the game, I suspected he chose it because he and other teammates were battling the flu. If he’s up to playing LSU in a couple weeks, he should stick with the same scripture… even more relevant now! Here it is: Isaiah 40:31… “but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Pretty awesome, Tim.

  13. jim and suzanne b says:

Tim, We pray for you, young man. You are the world’s hero for football. We are Gator Alumni and are rooting for you. Doesn’t matter if you are a Gator or not, the world is hoping for your strength and healing. Duh, du,du,du,duh Go Gators !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  14. Sandy Ryan says:

Tim: If you do read these comments, please know that our family’s prayers are with you, even the
Seminole members! You have been a great inspiration, on and off the field. If Jeanne D will contact me, I will gladly send her a Bible! Get well soon and let your parents know, we are praying for them also.

  15. Ann says:

Get better Tim! All us Bama fans expect to see you in the SEC Playoff game in Atlanta. YOU ARE AWESOME! It won’t be the same without you. Go Gators! and ROLL TIDE.

  16. Justin says:

OMG that was so funny god cant protect ya now can he bitch!!!

JOHN 3:16 SAYS KENTUCKY JUST KNOCKED YOUR ASS OUT!

  17. Jay says:

As christians, we should always be ready to encourage and inspire others to do better. And Tim Tebow has…Tim and other people of good character, with their action remind us to have a heart to love our enemies and forgive people, for they know not what they do…OR SAY!!!

  18. Anthony says:

Oh man, you poor baby gatornation pussies, it’s a shame that Tim Tebow’s career isn’t over. I wish it was because he is a pussy and that’s all there is to it.

  19. Rena says:

I just want to say we are thinking of you Tim and hope you recover soon! As for those with the disgusting comments, what you said goes beyond the rivalry of football; I would never wish that upon any other player of any other team — karma will get you. And let’s remember; it was really another Gator player that did that, because it takes the caliber of a Gator player to be able to do it!

  21. Caroline says:

To the two losers with the stupid comments, I would like to remind you that Tim Tebow is no doubt the greatest college football player ever. I’m not saying this because I’m a gator fan, I’m actually from Louisiana and I’m a die hard LSU fan and even I know that Tim is a stud. If you guys are cheering that he’s hurt b/c you possibly thought that since he’s hurt he won’t be able to play and win his games. Well that just proves you know how much of a beast Tim is b/c you know that no team can beat the gators without him. Oh and if you hate Tim so much, why are you waisting your time on a sight praising everything Tim Tebow?! Losers. It’s people like y’all who give football a bad name; being happy because an opponent’s hurt?! I stopped doing that when I was 10.This will be some thick karma for y’all.

  22. Beth says:

Anthony and Justin, I am lifting you up in my prayers that God will speak to your heart and remove the hatred you suffer from.

  23. Sean says:

Tim has been a big inpiration to me and my family. He is as good a role model as you can get. Our prayers are with you Tim and we know one way or another the Lord will lift you up and you’ll sore with Eagles wings!
God Bless from San Antonio TX,
    Sean and Family

  24. Justin says:

aww Beth thanks i appreciate that…. fuck that there is no god to speak to me that hit just proved that Tim Tebow is human and he’s not superman he can get hurt like eveyrone else it’s gunna suck when he thinks hes in heaven when hes really just rotting in the ground along side Dale Earnhardt and Princess Dianna

  25. Michael says:

The greatest football player of all time Caroline? Wow you are severly mistaken, stop pretending you are a LSU fan when you are really a Gator fan just trying to make people think that everyone thinks Tebow is the greatest. Jim Thorpe, Herschel Walker, Archie Griffin, Red Grange, the list goes on of much better athletes than Tim Tebow in College Football history. Tebow’s game doesn’t even transfer that well to the NFL, thats why most draft experts don’t even have him in the top 10 let alone not even one of the top 3 quarterbacks coming out of College. He won’t be able to run everyone over in the NFL, and that was all proven last week when he got the shit knocked out of him. What a bitch, finish this year at Florida then go home in self pity knowing your game won’t trasnfer to the professional level, knowing that you only look halfway good in college because you have such a good supporting cast. Tebows too cocky and his ass got put in his place, I’m so happy! Silly Tebow dicks are for chicks.

  26. Caroline says:

I said COLLEGE football player Michael. And condidering he was the first COLLEGE football player ever to run and throw for more than twenty touchdowns, be the first sophmore ever to win the heisman trophy, win two national championships, and countless other awards and a much expected heisman and another national title I would kinda think he’s one of the greatest college football players ever. If you ever watch ESPN like I do, they talk about Tim so much and how he’s one of the greatest COLLEGE football players of all time.

  27. Caroline says:

Oh and that’s funny how you think I’m not an LSU fan. I respect all that Tim does on and off the field. For example on of LSU’s previous QB’s Ryan Perriloux was an AMAZING QB and could of helped us so much in winning a second national title. But he had to go off and get into bar fights and do drugs and what not and get his ass kicked off the team. But Tim is a smart kid who has his head in the right direction and he’s not letting stupid things interfere with his life and ruin his dream.I’m also a strong Christian and I know that what Tim does is what God wants us all to do and I respect that. If you have a problem with that, I’m sorry and my prayers go out to you.

  28. Michael says:

Lol I wasn’t naming the greatest football players of all time, that was a very very short list of the greatest college players ever. The point was to get across Tebow doesn’t even come close to being the greatest college player ever, and ya you would be laughed out of the building if honestly think that. Wow! He threw and ran for more than 20 touchdowns, what an accomplishment! Not overly impressive at all considering he does play QB. Hell Jim Thorpe, if you even know who he is, not only played running back, but also played defensive back, punter, and place kicker for his team. Don’t shame the game by putting Tebow at the top over all college players in history, because thats a slap to their face, and if you even knew the history of the game you would know Tebow doesn’t even come close to the best players to ever play College Football.

  29. Derek says:

Haha, I agree Tebow is a fag and Carolina doesn’t know shit about College Football if she thinks he is the greatest of all time.

  30. Caroline says:

I find this all so funny. If y’all think you know everything about college football, you obviously don’t know something called sportsmanship. Your not the best fan if you make the other players seem like the worst in the world. It’s what they bring to the table. If you guys hate Tim so much, there has to be a reason. I used to hate him because he was such an amazing player and I knew LSU could never beat Florida while he was on their team(although they did in 2007). You guys just need to chill out, because your waisting your time. Your not going to change my mind on how awesome I think Tim Tebow is, and I know I won’t change your mind on how much you hate him. I really don’t care because I know that God is on his side and if you would stop hating everyone who seems like a potential threat to your favorite football team, maybe God will be on your side too. Oh and something that even I have to remind myself about: it’s just a game. To some people it’s their life because it’s their jobs, but unless your one of those drunk losers who thinks that somehow their life will be better if their team wins, it’s just kind of pathetic you care this much. I love football, but not enough to go and try and make myself feel better by bashing some other team’s player. That’s just stupid, and I hope you guys will one day learn that, because I have and I’m probably A LOT younger than you two. Just chill out, geez. It’s okay that you don’t like Tim and you think I don’t know anything about college football, I can’t change your mind. As I said before, I respect Tim for what he does on and off the field and I’ll defend him no matter what anyone says. Oh and Derek my name is Caroline. With an E. And I hope you guys feel a sense of accomplishment for fighting with a teenage girl! GOOD FOR YOU! I mean who wouldn’t?!

  31. Clark says:

I just don’t know how that guy missed that block. It was as if he didn’t see him. He should probably get his peripheral vision checked. They had two lineman blocking one guy. The guy that hit Tebow wasn’t even coming on a blitz!! He’s always right there.

  32. Jennifer says:

This site is called TEBOWzone.com. If you hate TEBOW so much, why are you here? I was reading all the horrible things people have to say, and I just wonder why- if you hate someone as much as some people here seem to- would you be on a website made in honor of him? I don’t go on websites for teams I don’t like, much less individual players fan pages. If you hate him, go away and let the true fans say what they want. Most of us here are Gators, and we love our quarterback. Grow up!

  33. Shannon says:

Tim, we are praying for a speedy recovery for you and comfort for your family.
And for the atheist jerks in this crowd, the Bible does not say that “God will never let anything bad happen to you.” It was an accident, but if there is any human being on earth who will find the wisdon in it, who will turn it into a faith-lesson, that person is Tim Tebow.

So you haven’t proven anything with your ignorant, repulsive remarks.

  34. Laia says:

i was so upset when tim got hid concussion. when i saw him on the ground i was crying so hard everyone was trying to calm me down. i prayed for him every nigh and im glad hes recovering :) god bless,
    ily tim tebow,
    Laia

  35. Laia says:

and by the way all you guys that keep saying “oh tims a fag” need to shut up. he cant help it if he’s got just about every girl or woman in america drooling over him and he cant help that it makes you jealous enough to make rude remarks about him to make yourself feel better.

  36. Duncan McColl says:

    Mr. Tim Tebow,
Im commenting on this because i feel like through my own experience of concussions that no matter what you think your brain is not something you can afford to mess with. I play football in Atlanta, GA and play linebacker for my high school team. I suffered a concussion on our training camp trip when we travelled to Florida and was out for 5 weeks. I have no memory of who hit me and what i was doing before and after i was hit. I laid on the ground for a good 25 seconds not being able to see anything but the sky swirling around at a million miles an hour. After sitting out for 3 weeks i slowly made my way back to trying to practice when my symptoms returned and i was forced to go sit out for 2 more weeks after seeing a concussion specialist. Once i returned i was a force in the one JV game i played and found my way onto 3 special teams in 2 weeks. Unfortunately i suffered my 2nd concussion of the season after being back only 2 weeks from my first one. This is likely the end to my Junior season which was looking very promising to touch the field alot on special teams. Although you have probably taken the Impact Test and it graded how bad your concussion was, the Impact Test has no official grade for your concussion. Also my friend suffered his 7th concussion of his life and is not able to play football ever again, and may not even be able to play basketball ever again. He had even more potential than me and was going to be getting in a bunch as the backup Middle Linebacker. Im telling you all of this because no matter what you end up doing for the rest of this season you will be drafted by and NFL team and your future is much more important than risking your life in a college football game. You may think that your brain has healed completely by Saturday but Im letting you know that the next hit you take could very well be the end of either your football career and maybe even your glorious life. You seem to be a very responsible young adult and my advice to you is that you being on this planet alive is much more important to the world than playing in a SEC Football game against LSU. The even scarier thing is that the hits take dont even have to be a quarter as hard as the one you suffered your concussion on for you to suffer a life threatening concussion later. I just wanted you to know that no matter what choice you make the nation supports you no matter what and that if you make the choice that you and your family feel is best based on your life ahead of you, you will become an even bigger role model to young football players throughout the world.

    Duncan McCOll

  37. Justin says:

yeah tim can’t be a fag because the “bible story book” won’t allow it or somethin like that besides im sure Urban and Timmy have done it up the bung hole with eachother a few times

  38. Laia says:

wow ok if you’re going to make fun of tim, take your coments elsewhere. this is a FAN websight and if you have such a problem with tim that you have to say mean and untrue things about him, go start your own frickn website. >=(
