Tim Tebow Back in Gainesville

After staying overnight in a Lexington, KY hospital for precautionary reasons, Florida Gator quarterback Tim Tebow was released and is back in Gainesville. We don’t know much more on the status of his injury at this point, but Tim is taking a few visits to Shands and would should know more after that.

Nease Hight School coach Craig Howard told the Orlando Sentinel that Tim’s parents said his concussion is “mild” or “normal.” When a player suffers a concussion, he is generally held out at least one week. Once you have one concussion you are much more likely to get a second, and then a third and so on. Medical staff must be certain the effects of his concussion are gone before he steps back on the field.

With a “mild” or “normal” concussion, you would expect a player to be out maybe 2-3 weeks. But this is Tim Tebow we’re talking about. I can almost gaurantee he will be suited up on the field for LSU in two weeks. Tebow is fortunate enough that the Gators have their bye week coming up. This gives him extra time to heal properly.

Once I know more I’ll post it.

WOW! Tim took a hit. I saw a news report last night given by a physical therapist last night. I was excited that a PT gave a report on concussions. I hope he takes the time to recover fully and then get back to work! God Bless Tim Tebow and his family.

Tim is in my prayers and I know he’ll play well against LSU in a couple of weeks!

I was at the game and live in KY. I was rooting for Tim all the way. My son and I were both nearly in tears when Tim got hit. I played college football and have coached for years. Never has a player touched the game like Tebow has. May he be blessed with a full recovery so we can all be blessed to see him pour his heart on that field!!

  5. Tim says:

Here is to a speedy recovery! I could not imagine the gators without Tim Tebow. He took a hard shot for the second week in a row, wow!

  6. Jimmy says:

What!!! A “NORMAL” concussion???? Sort of like a normal heart attack I guess. For Tim Tebow’s sake I hope Urban Meyer has a heart. No offense, but defenses around the conference will be gearing for one clean shot. He needs to be well enough to take it.

  7. Angel says:

I agree with Jimmy. 3 weeks minimum for full recovery. Defense will be looking for that shot that will take him out for the rest of the season. Take care Tebow we want to see you in the NFL.
