Tim Tebow @ Night of Champions

Heisman Trophy winners Danny Wuerffel and Tim Tebow along with their families will be featured at a “Night of Champions” May 8 at 7 p.m. at the Jacksonville Veteran’s Memorial Arena. This is your chance to see Tim Tebow interact with people off the football field.

Hosted by the Fellowship of Christian athletes, the event, according to a news release, will feature Danny Wuerffel, Danny’s father Jon Wuerffel, the Tebow Family, Kirk Herbstreit, comedian Kenn Kington, and Richie McDonald, former lead singer of the platinum-selling country group, Lonestar.

Danny Wuerffel won the Heisman while playing quarterback at the University of Florida and later played for several NFL teams, retiring in 1992 (see related story on page 9). Tim Tebow is the starting quarterback for the University of Florida and won the Heisman in 2007. Tim Tebow and his parents are members of First Baptist Church in Jacksonville.

“Night of Champions” will focus on the significance of “Building a Legacy Worth Leaving” with special testimonies from Bob Tebow and sons, and Jon and Danny Wuerffel.

The event also will feature performances from comedian Kenn Kington, heard on Comedy Central and XM Radio, and a message from special guest, ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit.

Tickets for “Night of Champions” are $15 and are available to the public at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 904-353-3309. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the event will run from 7-9:30 p.m. For more information visit www.fcanightofchampions.com.
