More Tim Tebow Honors

The honors and awards for Tim Tebow just keep rolling out. I’ve talked about his mantle and trophy room in the past… now I’m thinking Tim might need to invest in one of those huge PODS for storing all these things.

First up, the SEC honors. Tim Tebow was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Year (for the second year in a row). He also earned first-team All-SEC Honors, along with fellow gators Percy Harvin and Phil Trautwin.

Next up, the Danny Wuerffel Trophy. Florida Gator superstar Tim Tebow continued his collection of national football awards as he has been named the winner of the 2008 Wuerffel Trophy by the All Sports Association of Fort Walton Beach. This was just announced today. It’s not a popular award, so for those of you who don’t know… the award is presented to the college football player who best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement. Really no competition when it comes to this category (remember the circumcisions?).

“We’re excited and thrilled to have Tim be the winner of an award that exemplifies the three characteristics of athletics, academics and community service and joining the fraternity of the other fine winners,” said All Sports Association President Mike Coupe’ this morning. “He’s in great company. We’re just very excited to have him as this year’s winner.”

There are still several more awards and honors that will be announced in the coming weeks, most notably the Heisman on December 15. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you updated.
