Tebow Struggles in Opening Practice

The Gators took the practice field for the first time in 2008 yesterday. Emotions were high, players were amped and ready to put the pads on after coming off a disappointing 2007 season (can I really call a Heisman year for Tim Tebow a disappointing season?). GatorBait.net posted a list of their Hit or Miss players from yesterday’s practice and to my surprise…Tebow was on the Miss list! Blasphemy! Here’s what they had to say:

Last year Tim Tebow turned in an incredible spring. Though he wasn’t terrible, he wasn’t quite as sharp today.

Not quite an in-depth observation of his practice, but it will have to do since I was not able to attend. Gator bait did however give Tim Tebow the “Mr. Popularity” award for the day. I knew all you Tebow fans would go out there and show your support!

I hope this was enough info to hold you over until we have more reports. Keep checking back for more Tebow news!

I was having a good day until I read this… Maybe he was sick or maybe he’s just trying to get back in the swing of things. I’m sure he’ll get better after he practices a little more. Timmy, I’ll be praying for you.
    GOOD LUCK!

  2. Mrs. Linzy Tebow!!!!!! I LOVE TIMMY says:

its ok timmy! dont u worry wht all of these stupid critics say! ur amazing even when your not doing good!!!! Timmy im prayin everyday 4 u adn i love u
    GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  3. Vincent Gagliano says:

It’s the Heisman curse. Tebow is starting to experience a notable decline in performance as a result of winning college football’s highest individual honor.

Happens to those guys all the time: Troy Smith, Ricky Williams, O.J. Simpson

  4. Mrs. Linzy Tebow!!!!!! I LOVE TIMMY says:

SHUT UP VINCENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UR A JACKA**!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  5. Josh says:

I seriously don’t see how he is struggling. He is still amazing. And come on, It was the first day of practice so he was a little rusty.

And by the way Vincent, I really think that you need to get a life and stop coming to a Tebow FAN site all the time just to post stupid comments that are supposed to insult Tebow. See, real men (Like Tebow) who actually have lives actually do something besides spend their time arguing with two teenaged girls on the internet.

Tebow has won the heisman trophy, is considered one of the greatest college football players of all time, and has won a national championship. ( I know he wasn’t the starter.) What have you done with your life? In fact, nevermind, I don’t want to hear your inferior accomplishments.

  6. Vince says:

I’m multitalented – I can type and annoy you at the same time.

By the way, Josh, what have done with your own life? Until you can tell me some notable things of your own, shut up, stop using Tebow as your crutch, and let me take full advantage of my Constitutional right to free speech. Until then, you’ll have to pry the keyboard from my dead body.

  7. Vince says:

And for your information, Tebow would never be known as the legend he is without a good team around him.

As the say, the quarterback takes too much credit for wins and too much blame for losses. He won the Heisman because a miraculously improbable college football season just happened to make all of the upperclassmen look bad. He wasn’t the starting quarterback for the national championship team, Chris Leak was. And he’s gotten sick stats because he’s been able to throw to guys like Percy Harvin, Bubba Caldwell, and even Cornelius Ingram.

Without those guys, he’s basically another Rex Grossman.

  8. Josh says:

I like how you take pride in being an annoying little bugger. To tell you the truth I haven’t done anything special, but you haven’t done anything with your pathetic, possibly sexless life either. I will agree with you that a lot of the time the QB will take a lot of blame for a loss and a little too much credit for a win but that is because they are the leader of the team.

Also, you saying that he would not have gotten his stats without his recievers is a completely moronic comment considering that no QB would get anywhere without people to throw to so that they can in turn catch the ball and then try to pick up additional yards. I did mention in my first comment that he was not the starter for the championship but without him we definitely would not have made it considering he got almost every fourth down he had to so we could win a game from behind. (tennessee)

Now, I know that instead of leaving like all the gator fans here want you to and going somewhere that you are actually wanted( If you can actually be wanted somewhere), you are going to continue to be an annoying little piss stain and continue to insult me and any other fan with your stupid little comments and bad humor. I now realize that your only goal in life is to be an annoying little punk who takes pride in being hated.

  9. Vincent Gagliano says:

Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t realize this site was for Gator fans.

That’s because it’s not, it’s about one person on the team.

Face it, every Florida fan has reduced his margin for error to zero. He’s not allowed to be human and make mistakes like everyone else because he’s looked like that for the past two years. We all know that’s how it really is. And it’s only a matter of time before he does slip up…

  10. Josh says:

we are not saying that he’s perfect. everyone does make mistakes because we are human dude. in fact he has already slipped up a number of times and that is why we don’t have a perfect season. that is also why a lot of other QBs lose games as well. people like you take things out of context and say that fans of him have reduced his margin of error to zero. That is because we are FANS. People who are fans don’t say that their quarterback is a person who cannot deliver. He will occasionally not deliver like he did a few times this year but we will continue to support him because we know that he will lead the team to a win again because he is a talented quarterback.

All right man, this is my last comment that is going to argue with you so I’m going to try to end it on a good note. If you feel that you have to waste your time insulting a college athlete then go ahead, I’ll try to visit this site and ignore them. I really do hope that your team, Whoever it is, does good. I do ask just one thing man, stop with the bad jokes. Now go ahead and post a comment that will give you the last laugh or whatever it is you want because I am not a lifeless loser like you and don’t have to argue.

  11. Josh says:

    anymore

  12. Vincent Gagliano says:

Hot off the presses: Tebow to be mentored by Tom Brady to develop throwing arm and personality.

  13. Mrs. Linzy Tebow!!!!!! I LOVE TIMMY says:

Vincent…y do u go on a Tebow fan site if u Hate Timmy. mayb because u have a gay crush on him because timmy is amazing and ur just jelious of all da girls lykin him (or men in that manner, cause i now think ur gay) U r rly a queer..i got nothin against gay ppl, but when they mess wit Timmy, dat crosses the line..jacka**!!!!!!

  14. Vincent Gagliano says:

Come to think of it, Linzy, you’re absolutely right.

I’m a lot happier after I rag on Timmy.

  15. Butch says:

Figures. Most QB’s are “rusty” around this time, but especially when they dont have good performances off of bowl losses. I’m actually really surprised, I would’ve thought he come out looking sharp be it that he did lose to Michigan (in an amazing battle that was probably more lost by an amazing blitz scheme/lack of florida defense). Nonetheless I can see the heisman hype begin to fade more and more, time for a Matt Stafford uprising…maybe Staffordzone?

  16. Vincent Gagliano says:

No way, Butch! If I know you, it’s Danielzone for sure.

  17. Butch says:

all too well do you know me Vince. Go TIGERS!!!

  18. Vincent Gagliano says:

You know, Keyon Dooling grew up in my hometown (Fort Lauderdale, Florida).

    And don’t forget about Maclinzone.
