David Tomorrow, Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators football team will finally hit the practice fields. Wednesday, March 19 from 3:25 p.m.-5:55 p.m., the players will get down and dirty and start their journey towards a 2008 National Championship. The players actually won’t do a whole lot on Wednesday, just some basic workouts to get prepared. You can view the full Spring Practice schedule, which ends with the Orange & Blue game, on Gator Zone.
I remember last year coming off the 2006 National Championship, Gator fans were obsessed with the phenomenon of Tim Tebow. They stalked him around the stadium and were 4 rows deep at the practice field fence just trying to get a glimpse of his greatness.
I’m not sure if Tebowmania will start out as ramped as last year, but I would wager that there will be a good amount of fans out there to support Tim and the team. I just don’t think the coaches will have to drive him around in a golf cart for protection.
So will you be there to watch?

I would be at the practices if I could. Titleville… I mean Gainesville, is three hours away from I live and plus I have school so its pretty much impossible for me.

Matt Leinart has TWO NCs and a Heisman.
Therefore, Matt Leinart is better than Tim Tebow.

Vincent- Tebow’s got 2 years of college left. Which means he has 2 more chances to win NCs and 2 more chances to win the Heisman. You can not compare him to someone whose already graduated from college. When Tebow graduates THEN you can campare him to Matt Leinart.
Butch- Your right, we can’t call it TEBOW’S NC. Just like Vincent can’t call it LEINART’S NC.
But Leinart was the star quarterback for USC’s two national championship teams. We don’t give Matt Cassell credit for those victories since he wasn’t really involved.
Tebow WAS heavily involved as the team’s “running back” last year. But the QB most responsible for winning the NC was Chris Leak.
As for Heismans, most voters are going to really sick and tired of hearing about him over and over. The best (if not only) way he could give himself a shot is to outdo hiis already insanely high numbers. And with Tebow inevitably cutting down his running, a supporting cast that will steal some of his Heisman thunder (ask Ken Dorsey), and Newton getting more involved, it’s a task even Tebow himself will find highly improbable.

I’m not a Timmy hater; I’m a Timmy critic. There’s an important difference between the two.
Timmy critics offer legitimate views on his weaknesses. They bring in factual evidence to the conversation.
You don’t always bring in “factual evidence” to the conversation. For example… “He was actually sent by the Bush administration to sway votes for McCain in the wake of the 2000 fracas. But he’s in a witness protection program.” and “A strange symbiote, similar to the one from the Spider-Man 3 movie, has been around Lake Alice in Gainesville. Rumor has it that some spring practices are being held in the area. The players have run through infected areas despite being warned of the organism’s dangers. No word on if Tim Tebow has exhibited markedly more aggressive behavior off of the football field.” Both sound absolutely ridiculous and I highly doubt they are “factual”.
I do intersperse vaudeville humor in there; there’s something in all of us that loves to see celebrities fail.
And who better to try and target than Tim Tebow.
