Tebow and the Gators vs. the Michigan Wolverines

It’s New Year’s Eve… you know what that means? Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators are only one day away from their New Years Day Capital One Bowl Game against the dangerous Michigan Wolverines. Most lines I’ve seen have the Gators favored by 14 pts or so.

The Wolverines have a lot of fire power on offense, led by senior quarterback Chad Henne, wide receiver Mario Manningham, and senior running back Mike Hart. The Wolverines bring one of the most balanced offenses the Gators have seen all year. They’ll likely try to attack the Gators young secondary (much like every other team has this year) by putting the ball in the air. The Wolverines may put up 30+ points on the Gators… but somehow I don’t think that’ll be enough.

See the Gators have the X Factor. And his name is Tim Tebow.

Tebow’s been practing and chopping at the bits to get back on the field and lay it to someone, probably an unsuspecting linebacker. Tebow will prove to everyone in the country why he was named the Heisman Trophy winner and AP Player of the Year. Michigan just doesn’t have a strong enough defense to stop Tebow on the ground or in the air.

I predict Tebow will have another monster game. Something like 280 yards passing and 90 yards rushing with about 5 total touchdowns. Actually, now that I think about it… that’s not a monster game for Tebow, it’s pretty much average.

The game is being played in Orlando, so you can expect a very large and loud Gator crowd at the stadium. Michigan will travel, but they won’t come close to the number of Gators fans. The game is at 1:00, so don’t forget to tune in!

Go Gators!

There is 9 minutes left in the umich ufl game and what ive seen from tim is great, but i think chad henne is showing the ability to put the ball on a rope in tight coverage in a way tebow hasnt this game (there were two instances where tebow had receivers over the middle and chose to run up the middle instead of stepping into the pocket and delivering a strike). However, he has shown some real poise in front of a punishing pass rush D. His patience is shown in his numbers thus far, im impressed not only with him but with percy harvin who i believe is the reason why tebow is doing so well right now.

The game is now over. I was really surprised by the outcome, I never believed that michigan had the offensive depth in the playbook to utilize their weapons effectively against florida but lloyd carr and this umich o coordination not only exploited the young secondary but didnt abandon the run game. with that said, mike hart is the reason why this game was close. If it werent for crucial fumbles on the goal line this games not even close. Mich not only showed the ability to stretch the field vertically but hit the seams over the middle of the field that tebow and the gators couldnt find.

Lastly, the pass rush was the kind of pass rush ive been looking for against tim tebow to test his ability as a quarterback. i predicted that he would falter under pressure like that but he proved me wrong. standing tall in the pocket, not looking at the rush and delivering the ball accurately and didnt make a mistake…it was in a losing effort but he was great. Great season for florida and now they have something to prove for next season…in the mean time my tigers won 38-7…how about that tony temple.

I hope you guys luuuv your New Year, because this is what it’s going to look like for a while: A SEC team without a running back (that’s genious) and with a playbook that’s totally exhausted. Good thing UF is going with a two-QB look next season, because Timmy Tebow has fizzled and faded.
Four losses this season…wow. Welcome to the bottom of the heap, Tebow fans. He is the next grease-fire of a QB that UF puts out there to ultimately fail, and the new poster boy for the afterthought Heisman voter.

Tebow got pressured showed his true colors and faded. Harvin was good very fast but one player can’t win the game. Thanks coach Carr for the win in the most satisfying sense over Florida since I cant stand Urban Meyer. CHOMP CHOMP GATORS!!

  5. Butch says:

uhhhh he had over 250 yds of total offense and 4 td’s, he and percy were the only reasons florida was in the game (dumbasses). its not his fault his defense cant make a stop when it counts. also, this pressure you talk about, tebow felt it and responded like a true quarterback, didnt get jumpy or look at the rush, just delivered the ball accurately to his playmakers and his offense scored 38 points…there’s no way you should score that many points and lose.

  6. Chris in Ann Arbor says:

HA he responded like a true QB? what happened the last 2 drives of the game. Did you not have eyes?? 4 and out both times when the pressure came when the game was on the line. Tebow was ok nothing more Harvin was great he kept you in the game. Just to add on your 2 fumbles away from a 20 point thrashing. Your Tebow God isnt that great he deserves the HYPESman award more cause thats all he is. One last CHOMP CHOMP for ya losers!! Tebow Zone shall be quiet for a few months now or until he eats a plate of spare ribs and you decide to make it national news

This was probably one of the most exciting football games I’ve seen in awhile. The outcome surprised me I really thought Florida was going to KILL them. But Michigan wanted it sooo much more than we did and you could see that. I mean COME ON Michigan fumbled 4 TIMES and we STILL LOST! Michigan was also able to do what most teams could not do…stop (a perfectly healthy) Tim Tebow. (remeber Tebow was injured during the 3 season games we lost) Great Job Wolverines. Maybe next year we’ll get the honor of playing y’all in the National Championship.

  9. Butch says:

I think what youre missing chris is the fact that tebow is the reason why you guys almost lost that game. the reason you did win, however, was by ripping a young defense, and at the end of the game florida was in obvious passing situations which allowed the michigan rush D to just pin its ears back and thats why the offense went three and out (they make their money by making a team think one way and go another). what you need to do is find chad henne and give him a steak and a blowjob because he saved your team from fucking up (again) after mike hart nearly lost it for you.

Also, stop pinning this tebow god/gator envy bullshit on me. I go to mizzou (which won 38-7 in their bowl game) im merely revealing how redundant most of these posts were and giving tebow the props he deserved in this game.

I was actually pulling for Fla (despite that homo of a QB you have). But after that sorry sportsmanship (Fla stomping on Mich) I pulle dfor Mich.
Fla and Urban are truyly classless.
I can’t wait to watch you lose again in 2008.
