The Gators have reached midseason. There have been some disappointments, but fans are naive if they thought the Gators would go through the season undefeated. Tebow has played very well thus far. He’s answered his critics and suprassed expectations.
Coming into the 2007 season, everyone knew Tebow could run the ball. The questions surrounding him where whether or not he could pass the ball. I think the fact the he’s among the top quarterbacks in the nation in passing (1455 yards) and has a 65.5% completion rate, 13 to 3 touchdown to interception ratio, and a 173.1 QB rating speaks for itself. Not to mention all his rushing statistics.
Tebow does have a few things he needs to work on though before he can be a truly elite QB. I think by this time next year Tebow will be hands down the best quarterback in college football. Hell, he may even win this Heisman this season. If I were to give Tebow a midseason grade, it would have to be an A. The few interceptions he’s throw have not been his fault. The WRs were running the wrong routes.
If Tebow doesn’t win the Heisman, he sure as hell has the Davey O’Brien award locked up. According to the voting on daveyobrien.com he’s got a slight lead on Shawn Carney. However, that lead is gonna get even bigger as Tebow continues to pad those sick stats of his.
