The shoe will be orange and blue. The left heel has the words “PROMISE” and “Sept. 27th, 2008,” remembering back to Tebow’s impassioned post-game speech after Florida lost to Ole Miss… a speech that lifted his teams motivation and resulted in a National Championship run.
The right heel has “2006,” 2007,” “2007,” “2007, “2008,” and “2008,” marking years where Tebow achieved certain milestones, like winning the Heisman, winning National Championships and making the All-American teams.
The tongue of the shoe will feature a prominent EA logo in reference to Tim Tebow being on the cover NCAA Football 11.
What do you think of the Tim Tebow shoe? Will you buy one? Post a comment and let us know.
EDIT: Have a picture of the shoe now.
]]>A deal with Nike makes a lot of sense for Tim Tebow. Not only does it provide financial support, but it will help increase his exposure through commercials, shoes, clothing, etc. The contract probably came easy seeing as the University of Florida has a Nike contract so the reps probably know Tebow well by now. Nike is getting a great deal out of this. If Tim becomes a star in the NFL they will have locked him up for a pretty cheap price. On the other hand, if Tebow doesn’t pan out then Nike won’t be out much money.
Nike also lost out big time on their deal with Michael Vick. Sure, Nike didn’t have to pay him all those millions of dollars but their image might have been hurt a little because of Vick’s off the field issues. By signing Tim Tebow they are guaranteed to get a high character guy and one hell of an athlete.
