“We all agree on one thing: Tim Tebow is a darn good football player,” Elway said. “What we have to make him is a darn good quarterback, and that is what we have to figure out.”
Elway’s said he has watched the film on Tebow – so he’s been able to analyze each play and pass Tim has made. He said Tim look “very raw” and some of his fundamentals in the pocket are iffy, but really … how many rookie quarterbacks come into the league as a polished QB? It takes everyone time — Tim has only had 3 games so far.
“Those are the things that he has to get a lot better at,” Elway said. “He’s got the intangibles. He’s going to make the plays that you can’t coach, as he did against Houston. He’s going to make those plays, but he’s got to be able to, for us to win a championship, he’s got those intangibles, but he’s got to win it from within the pocket.”
]]>They talk about the electricity and excitement Tim Tebow brings back to Denver — something they haven’t had in years. Regarding Tim’s first touchdown of the preseason, the one where he got banged in the ribs, John said he thought it was great to see Tim go for the endzone and show his teammates the kind of player he’s going to be.
]]>“I think there’s a connection already with Tim Tebow and the way he’s acted, come in answered with the media, the type of person he is. He fits perfect into this community,” Elway said. “I think that’s why everyone is excited about him because they kind of feel like you know he’s the next son of Denver. That’s how I felt when I came in.”
