Tebow Accounts for 3 Touchdowns in Win

What a game last night! The Broncos upset the Steelers in overtime by a score of 29-23. Tim Tebow played a great game – he finished 10/21 for 316 yards and 2 touchdowns (0 interceptions), plus 50 yards rushing and 1 touchdown (0 fumbles). I counted 2 drops by receivers (Thomas and Fells), so his completion percentage should have been more like 12/21. Not great, but the fact that he hit on so many deep balls is really what matters.

Tim showed poise in the pocket and pulled the trigger, just as Elway asked him to.

Tim Tebow, Broncos Beat Steelers

Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos just beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in overtime 29-23. The Broncos now advance to the Divisional Round of the playoffs and will play the Patriots next week.

Tebow played extremely well tonight vs the Steelers. He threw 2 touchdowns and 1 ran in. I don’t have all the stats in front of me right now, but I think he threw for over 300 yards.

I will give a full game recap tomorrow. Now it’s time to celebrate!

Tim Tebow Needs to “Pull The Trigger”

Broncos Executive Vice President of Football Operations, John Elway, said yesterday that Tim Tebow just needs to “pull the trigger.” The playoffs are not a time to be scared or too cautious. Tebow got the message, and will do just that:

“That’s just a feel thing. I think you get more comfortable with it over time,” Tebow said Wednesday. “You have to be aggressive, but at the same time you have to be smart. For a while, we did a really good job with that. We got away from it the last couple weeks, but it’s something we have to be really good at Sunday.”

Football is a team game, but with the Broncos (moreso than any other team) all eyes are on the quarterback. The Broncos will live and die with Tebow on Sunday. It’s important for the players around him to do their job by getting opening on offense and stopping the Steelers on defense.

“We’re all in this together. We’ve got to put him in positions where he can succeed. He’s the one out there throwing the ball,” Fox said. “At the end of the day, we’ll try to give him some better pass plays to operate. I think we’re just doing what we think gives us the best chance to win. And of late, we’ve come up a little bit short. But we’ve put (ourselves) in a position to be one of the (league’s) top 12 (teams).”

The Broncos certainly have their work cut out for them — but man, I can’t wait for this game!

Terrell Suggs Harsh Words For Tebow

Terrell Suggs of the Baltimore Ravens came out today with some harsh words towards Tim Tebow. I can understand if the Ravens were playing the Broncos this week, but they’re not … it pretty much came out of nowhere.

Suggs was on ESPN’s First Take with Skip Bayless. Bayless has been one of the media’s biggest Tebow supporters over the past two years.

“Congratulations to you and your boy, you and your man crush,” Suggs remarked out of nowhere. “We know you’ve got a little man crush with your boy out there in Denver. It’s alright. Congratulations. Y’all made it.”

Bayless then asked Suggs for his take on Tebow.

“He’s alright. He’s alright. Let’s be honest, Skip, I can put up the numbers he was [putting up],” he said. “It’s all about numbers, baby. Give me a shot. Let’s see what we can do, create my own offense and hopefully my kicker can nail a 62-yarder to bail me out a few times, Jesus shows up. … That boy be praying on the sidelines, boy. I don’t feel comfortable [if] I’ve got to pray every fourth quarter like, ‘Oh my God, please come save me again.’”

He then went on to say:

“With all due respect we don’t need God on our sidelines,” Suggs said. “Once again God had to save Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos. He couldn’t even give them two drives? Seven to three? [Referring to the score Denver lost by on Sunday.]”

Tim has been dealing with this all his life — we know by now it won’t get to him. In college, Tebow used to dish out severe punishment by way of stiff arm to linebacks who would talk smack about him. Let’s hope, for Suggs sake, that the Broncos don’t meet the Ravens in the playoffs.
