Katy Perry dedicates song Peacock to Tim Tebow

Katy Perry dedicated a song to Tim Tebow during a pre-game Super Bowl performance.

The ‘Firework’ singer’s Christian pastor parents, Mary and Keith Hudson, reportedly want to set her up with the Denver Broncos player following her split from husband Russell Brand in December and Katy gave a flirtatious shout-out to the sportsman by dedicating her song ‘Peacock’ to him on Saturday (04.02.2012).

Before singing the lyrics which include the words “I wanna see your peacock, cock, cock, your peacock, cock”, Katy said at the performance at DirectTV’s Super Saturday Night, “This goes out to Tim Tebow”.

Katy, 27, also hinted she is ready to move on from her 14-month marriage, by saying “Everything feels brand new.”

Katy’s parents are said to have targeted Tim as a potential new son-in-law because he is “above all, a good Christian”.

A source said previously: “Katy’s mom firmly believes the best cure for heartache is to quickly fall in love again. In her mind, Tebow is the perfect guy for her daughter. He’s handsome, charming, intelligent and above all, a good Christian.”

However, Tim wasn’t the only footballer Katy flirted with on Saturday, Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers caught her eye as she presented him with the award for Offensive Rookie of the Year at the National Football League Honors.

She said: “You’ll be the first straight man I’ve had a photo with in a long time, so live up to it.”

Tim Tebow cancels talk with Ohio prosperity pastor

Tim Tebow has canceled an appearance at a revival organized by a controversial Ohio preacher, a spokesman for the star athlete said Wednesday. Tebow’s brother Robbie said in a phone interview that he was canceling the talk. Robbie Tebow said his brother’s speakers’ bureau hadn’t researched the event before saying yes to the invitation.

“I know for a fact that Tim is not going to be a part of it,” Robbie Tebow said. “That’s being resolved.”

Parsley teaches that God wants the faithful to be rich. Last year, he asked followers to donate more than $1 million to ward off satanic attacks. In the 2008 presidential election, Republican Sen. John McCain disowned an endorsement from Parsley after learning the pastor called Islam an “anti-Christ” religion.

Parsley’s gathering is called “Contending for the Faith Weekend.” Texas televangelist Kenneth Copeland, who also preaches the prosperity gospel, is another featured speaker, according to the event website.

Mark Youngkin, a spokesman for Parsley, said the quarterback has a contract with the event organizers, who have asked Tebow to reconsider. Youngkin said national advertising for the event had just been approved Tuesday.

“The ball’s in their court at this point,” Youngkin said.

Tim Tebow in Super Bowl 2012 live commercial?

It wouldn’t surprise if Tim Tebow popped up in a Super Bowl ad Sunday. Not one for a faith-based organization as he did several years ago, but for a proud brand. Knowing how some advertisers try to tap into the zeitgeist the fascination with Tebow would seem to make him an ideal candidate. And, his success took off early enough in the fall for a brand to develop a spot worthy of the big game. If Tebow continues to succeed on the field and yet fails to become a commensurate endorsement star, it would be quizzical considering how many athletes with questionable records land major deals.

Also, on Tuesday, TLC said it would produce “Preacher Wives” about the women behind the men who run congregations and hold some pretty big sway themselves. The show should have plenty of entertainment value considering the producers are also behind “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” but EW reported some of the women step up to “sermonize.”

The show presumably won’t have an advertiser like Lowe’s making the high-profile decision to pull ads as it did with TLC’s “All-American Muslim.” Which leads to the suggestion that Tebow and a marketer like Lowe’s would do well together in an ad that preaches an uplifting tolerance angle.
