Terrell Suggs of the Baltimore Ravens came out today with some harsh words towards Tim Tebow. I can understand if the Ravens were playing the Broncos this week, but they’re not … it pretty much came out of nowhere.
Suggs was on ESPN’s First Take with Skip Bayless. Bayless has been one of the media’s biggest Tebow supporters over the past two years.
“Congratulations to you and your boy, you and your man crush,” Suggs remarked out of nowhere. “We know you’ve got a little man crush with your boy out there in Denver. It’s alright. Congratulations. Y’all made it.”
Bayless then asked Suggs for his take on Tebow.
“He’s alright. He’s alright. Let’s be honest, Skip, I can put up the numbers he was [putting up],” he said. “It’s all about numbers, baby. Give me a shot. Let’s see what we can do, create my own offense and hopefully my kicker can nail a 62-yarder to bail me out a few times, Jesus shows up. … That boy be praying on the sidelines, boy. I don’t feel comfortable [if] I’ve got to pray every fourth quarter like, ‘Oh my God, please come save me again.’”
He then went on to say:
“With all due respect we don’t need God on our sidelines,” Suggs said. “Once again God had to save Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos. He couldn’t even give them two drives? Seven to three? [Referring to the score Denver lost by on Sunday.]”
Tim has been dealing with this all his life — we know by now it won’t get to him. In college, Tebow used to dish out severe punishment by way of stiff arm to linebacks who would talk smack about him. Let’s hope, for Suggs sake, that the Broncos don’t meet the Ravens in the playoffs.
Your article is very interesting and humorous. From your article, I can see the true meaning of the word happy. This article, I believe many people are helpful. Very fortunate to share this article to your. Look forward to your updates.
Of,course! As well know, your article is very attractive, many of my friends have such thoughts, like so many people comment on your articles, look forward to your new works
It was very informative and I also digg the way you write!I love your article, and I am deeply attracted by your idea and sense among your words. Please keep us up to date like this.
I’m sick and tired of the bashing Christian get. Hey Terrell, would you say the same thing if he thanked ALLAH. I doubt it.
Suggs has always tried to bully and criticized Tebow. I remember hearing him after Tebow’s first start. He has no class. I can’t call him a punk cause he could break me in half like a twig, but for some reason he has no respect for Tebow and his verbal assaults show his true character.
I don’t believe what I just read! Suggs gets to decide where God should be? Wow, this beats all the arrogance I have ever seen. God is everywhere whether human beings want to acknowledge it or not. Tebow doesn’t bring Him there, Tebow is only acknowledging His presence and his power through prayer. If I were Terrel Suggs, I would be very, very afraid. God has a way of showing you He is needed. GBT2 & GB2
Tisa: Had to share what I just read concerning Elway’s statement in W. Paige’s article dated 01/04/12…Elway: “I always believe God has put me in tough situations because he wanted me to learn fast.” Will have to change my opinion and know that things are really looking up for Timmy!!! GBT2/GB2!!!!!!!! (As for Suggs, you are so right!)
I see some encouraging signs when I read Elway and Fox’s comments. I am praying that Timmy’s game this week will be easier for him than the previous ones. GBT2 & GB2
Suggs is a thug. Simple as that. I don’t see him having a go at some of his Christian teammates. Can you see him saying something to Ray Lewis??? I’m just very happy to have someone in the NFL (like Brees and the Manning brothers, just naming a few) who my children can look to as an athletic role model. GBT2 & Go Broncos!
suggs is a racist all the black players hate him cause other black qbs never got a chance like tebow. kordell stewart is jealous of him too on ESPN first take he is always talking about how he had to prove he could play when really he sucked god bless tim tebow
Hmmmmmmm….. Suggs & thugs same thing, oh how the haters come out.
Guess we can consider the “SOURCE” and dismiss the TRASH TALK…GIGO!!!
Agree w/Tisa and maybe he needs a “wake-up call” b/c God definitely has a way of getting someone’s attention!!!
GBT2/GB2!!!!!!!!!!
Tim is the greatest thing to happen to pro sports, with all these athletes make, cant they just stop a moment and praise GOD. pride comes before the fall, we all know that. Tim finds many more things so much more important than just a game. He is a true role model for anyone in sports, or in life. He is a breath of fresh air for all sportsman, and anyone who puts GOD before all. i LOVE this man as a genuine good hearted human being./
Very well said, Jeff. I totally agree. It’s refreshing to see someone work hard and praise God first for the talents he’s been given. He is a breath of fresh air in this tainted league. He is a terrific role model for young athletes, in good times and in bad. His parents did a fantastic job raising him!! I really hope the Broncos keep him and Elway lives up to his promise he made to work with him in the off season.
Good luck and God Bless Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos!!
