I just read that massive Yahoo! Sports article about the Miami Hurricanes booster who gave improper benefits to players, coaches, etc. Miami is pretty much screwed – having broken 1,000 rules. You can read the article here.
One piece that I found interesting is that the booster had bounties placed on opposing team players. If a Hurricane player laid a big hit on the opposing player or hurt him, then he’d get a nice payday. One of the players with a bounty on his head — none other than Tim Tebow.
The booster told Yahoo! Sports he had a number of individual payouts for “hit of the game” and “big plays.” He also put bounties on specific players, including Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow and a three-year standing bounty on Seminoles quarterback Chris Rix from 2002 to 2004, offering $5,000 to any player who knocked him out of a game.
No wonder so many players talked smack about Tebow or were always going after him!
Thank you for pointing this out. That article was pretty damning.
Yet that year Tebow was was 21/35 256yds 2 tds 0ints 55rush yds and they won 26-3. So of course he had fun. TT fears no bounty.
Considering the extreme competitiveness ( to be nice ) between the three Florida universities, this is not going to help the attitude of the fans of UF and FSU toward the “U”. Yes, UF won that year and I can remember standing in Doak Campbell after we beat FSU ( in the pouring rain )that same year. There were no ‘Noles left in the stadium at the end of the game, they’d all skulked out,and Timmy was skipping around the staduim pumping the students up to chanting “We are Florida!!!” You could hear them well out of the stadium. We owned the state that year! Ah, what memories Timmy gave us all! If the Broncos would only let him create some more.
Is there anywhere I can donate to this cause?
But it never works out that way. In the first place, my schedule is always fucked up. I’m a night owl. I like sleeping in. I don’t like that I lose a lot of daylight hours,Callaway Big Birtha Fusion FT-3 Driver, but for the foreseeable future I don’t see myself having a steady normal schedule. So already I’m screwed with my “get it all done by the afternoon” plan. Then I have other things I need to do during those daylight/work hours so that screws with the whole “getting it done by this time” as well.
But maybe I work better at night. Obviously I have to set a time that I’m going to start working and allot enough to get done what I need to get done. But before that, maybe I should just do whatever. It’s clear that my days aren’t letting me work at 9-5 times. Plus, isn’t the fun part about working from home, leaving your house in the middle of the day on a Wednesday to do whatever? If I’m working the same hours as everybody else cheap canada goose, is that really as awesome? I’m sure it isn’t.
