ESPN has a new headline article about Tim Tebow and the progress he is making this offseason. A lot was said the past few weeks that the Broncos could potentially draft a quarterback in the 2011 NFL Draft – giving Elway his guy and putting Tebow on the outside. But that didn’t happen. The Broncos seem to be committed to the stable of quarterbacks they currently have. “I believe in them, and they believe in me,” Tebow told ESPN Saturday.
Tebow has been in Florida and Georgia over the past few weeks. HE returned to Denver from Florida over the weekend and plans to spend the majority of the remaining offseason working out with teammates including receivers Brandon Lloyd and Jabar Gaffney during the lockout. He’ll be back in Jacksonville in just a few weeks as he prepares for his first ever celebrity golf tournament.
In the mean time, Tim is crushing it in the gym and working on his mechanics. Elway told Tim that in order to succeed at the NFL level he will have to perfect his throwing motion, improve his accuracy and prove he can win from the pocket. “Any quarterback at this level has to be able to do that,” Tebow said. “That’s nothing new to me. It’s what I’m working to do so I can compete and we can win.”
Tim will have to compete with Kyle Orton during training camp (if we have a training camp) for the starting job, but the ball seems to have moved in favor of Tim. “I think where we are as an organization, we are going with Tim,” Elway said.
Sure is looking a lot brighter than a few weeks ago. Go Tim, we know you can beat Orton in head to head competition! Just need the lock out to be over so we can have some football.
iam so excited for tim to show his stuff and prove everybody wrong.denver needs to believe in him and trust and give himthe time to show what he can do on the football field he will not let you down he will be one of the greatest qb ever and a hall of fame player one day.
