A new book about Tim Tebow is available for pre-order on Amazon right now, and is due to launch soetime in September 2010. The book is titled Man on a Mission: The Tim Tebow Story by Jesse Florea. It’s only $6.99 for paperback and $5.99 for direct download to your Kindle.
Here’s the book description:
In Man on a Mission: The Tim Tebow Story, celebrated author and sports writer Jesse Florea connects young readers to the extraordinary life and talent of Tim Tebow, quarterback for the University of Florida Gators and one of the youngest players ever to receive the Heisman trophy. Told in exciting detail with lots of play-by-plays for sports fans, this is the story of a boy who grew up to become one of the greatest players in college football history. Featuring an eight-page full-color insert of action photos as well as black-and-white photos throughout the book, this latest addition to the bestselling Zonderkidz Biographies series will inspire readers ages 8 to 12 with Tim’s amazing story and his unwavering tenacity in the importance of family and faith.
And this is what you will find on the back cover of the book:
From Football Field to Mission Field Tim Tebow is one of the greatest quarterbacks in college football history, a winner of the Heisman Trophy, a two-time recipient of the Maxwell Award, and a first-round draft pick for the Denver Broncos. But beyond the cheers and awards, Tim knows that the real glory goes to God. His conduct on the field and his tireless work in spreading the gospel through mission work have earned him a place in history. Learn the extraordinary true story of how the child who was never supposed to live inspired a nation.
I have not received a copy of the book yet to review, but I did place my pre-order last night. With a target age group of 8-12 it should be a pretty easy read. I’ll be sure to post a review once I finish it.
Doesn’t any one think that this book is a little premature? Didn’t he just turn 23? I think it puts even more pressure on him to be ‘perfect’ when he is merely human. If he messes up in life (which no man/woman is above) it will be a million times more devastating.
I basically agree, Elena. I suppose the fact that this book is seemingly just focusing on Tim’s football accomplishments in college, not speculating on his future, makes it a little more ok w/me.
Definitely a MUST for my Gator library!
Tim’s also one of the QBs profiled in this (I think?) recently released book:

Note: Tim has his own twitter account now and within hours there were thousands that signed up! FYI-including me! ck
I love Tebow. I think he is an amazing role model for our children. I have two teenage boys and I love that they have a positive role model that is on fire for God. I think Tebow is game for anything to let people see what God has done for him.
why has this book been pulled off shelves at Lifeway and has disappeared from all sources?
I have sent an email to the author/publisher trying to find out why the book has been pulled. No word yet.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Tim himself had this stopped. This bio is part of a series of apparently unauthorized bios released by this publisher (another of them is about Bono’s allegedly deep faith). Tim’s reputation is, as we all know, very important to him, so if this book was going to mischaracterize him in any way, I can imagine that he’d prevent it from being released just like he had that website, tebowtees.com, shut down.
FWIW, I really like Tim being aggressive in these areas. Having a desire to be kind doesn’t mean one has to be a doormat & I’m glad Tim seems to get that distinction.
