This is the first post of a new series I am beginning here on Tebow Zone – to help get us through the summer. I want you to e-mail me with 1-2 paragraphs of How You Became A Fan of Tim Tebow. Did you meet Tim once and decided to become a fan? Were you a fan of the Florida Gators and started following him during college? Do you go to church with Tim Tebow and became a big fan because of his faith? Or maybe you’re a new fan since he joined the Broncos. We want to hear all your stories. Each one will be unique in it’s on way, and I’ll bet some of you have really special stories about how you became a fan of Tim Tebow.
I’ve added a new dropdown box for the subject line of the e-mail contact form. Please use this e-mail contact form so I can easily identify your posts. We will publish your story on Tebow Zone for all the fans to read, so if you don’t want your name to be published then please use a fake name when you send us your story.
To kick things off I’m going to share with you my story.
I attended the University of Florida from 2001-2005, which so happen to be the Zook years. Football was down in Florida. We were losing at home several times a year. We weren’t beating our biggest rivals anymore. It was a sad time. Zook was fired at then end of the 2004 season, which happened to be my last football season to enjoy as a student at UF.
It was a dark time to be a Gator football fan during those years, but I knew brighter days were ahead when the school announced Urban Meyer as the new head coach. It wasn’t long before Urban was recruiting Tim Tebow hard and eventually got him to commit to Florida. It was a glorious day to be a Gator fan – we had our football savior.
Tim was a phenom in high school, and even though he grew up in my hometown, I didn’t really know much about him. I just knew he was one of the best players in the country and ESPN aired his high school games on TV. The moment Tim put on the Gator hat during signing day I became and instant fan. We welcomed him into the Gator Nation with open arms. That was back in Spring 2005.
Fast Forward to Fall 2007 and I got the bright idea to create a Tim Tebow fan site, mainly because there weren’t any out there. I wanted to share my passion for Gator sports and Tim Tebow with other fans. Tebow Zone was born and I’ve been dedicated to following Tim Tebow’s career ever since.

Thank you for posting such an exceptional article. It is easy to see why he has so many loyal fans b/c he achieves no matter what obstacles are thrown in his way!
I, however, became a fan mostly by way of my daughter who was playing trumpet in the UF Marching Band so, of course, had to watch the Gators!!! (FYI Note: UF/Gator Grad/Alumni 2004 with a degree in Vet./Poultry Science.) When Tebow arrived, he changed the whole course of Gator Football and I doubt anyone will ever be his equal!! Never really liked a/o watched any football until there was TEBOW!! So glad that Coach Meyer (elite among the best coaches ever at UF; also, Spurrier is in this category too imo!) was able to convince him to come to UF!! He has changed so many lives for the better and will never be forgotten in my lifetime!! I wish him all the best now and in the future!! God bless an incredible athlete/human being who lives a very disciplined life by example and few there are that can measure up to these high standards!! Rare, indeed!! Not hard to figure out why there are such HUGE CROWDS everywhere HE shows up! Will be waiting along with all the others to see someone worth lining up for: TEBOW!! Looking forward to going to FT. Pierce on Saturday (July 3rd) to, again, see “A REAL HERO!”
