Before I get started, I just wanted to mention that we have quite a back log of Tebow fan stories, so if haven’t seen yours posted yet don’t worry — it will come.

It felt kind of weird writing the title to this blog post. Tim Tebow destroyed the Seminoles all four years during college, never losing to them once – so it’s not every day you hear about a student at FSU being a fan of Tim Tebow. It’s generally the opposite – they can’t stand him!

I became a Tebow fan when I became a football fan. I was never into sports, as a girl I thought sports wasn’t for me. Only when I came to college did I fall in love with sports and my favorite sport, football. I fell in love with my team. I fell in love with school spirit. I was hooked on football from my first home game. Now here is the thing, I got to Florida State University. I thought my school was amazing, win or lose I loved them. So naturally I watched the Florida and Florida State game in 2008. That was the first time I saw Tim, and he was kicking the crap out of my team, lol. I saw this amazing guy and player, and I wondered who was the guy who commanded power and presence on the field. I could see his leadership shining, and I realized what FSU was missing. We needed that passion, drive, and leadership to carry our team. Needless to say, FSU loss that day. However, I had to know more about this guy who just seemed incredible.

I did my research and realized that he was already a big deal in football, everyone already knew about this guy. What made me smile was that I was right, just looking at Tim I knew he was great on and off the field. I knew all of this before actually finding out who he was. His story and actions exceeded my expectations. Ever since that game I have remained a Tebow fan. I went to his final home game just for him. I waited two hours for the gator walk just for him, and I was a Nole in a sea of Gators. I wanted my team to win that day too, but when they didn’t I wasn’t too sour about it. I will never be a Gator fan because I love FSU, it is my school and it has made me who I am, and I definitely love FSU more than Tebow. Yet, even though I am a Nole I can never hate Tebow, he is great and I hope to meet him someday.
