The Florida Gator defense took a blow earlier this week with the news of star defensive end Carlos Dunlap’s arrest on DUI charges. For more on his arrest, head over to Gator Envy. But what this means is Alabama will have an easier time moving the ball on offensive and ultimately scoring points. Tim Tebow will need to counter every Alabama score with a Florida Gator touchdown.
The SEC Championship Game on Saturday is one of the biggest games of Tim’s life. His legacy in Gainesville is already cemented as the greatest Gator player of all-time, but what Tim does this weekend (and ultimately in a BCS Title Game) will affect how college football fans remember him 100 years from now. If Tim plays lights out and gets the Gators an impressive win – it would be hard to argue against him in the Heisman voting. He might not have the most impressive stats, but he is the best player in college football and the Gators would be nowhere near 12-0 without him.
Tim Tebow has to go out there and prove to everyone that the Gators win as a team. There are so many naysayers and haters that a strong performance in the SECCG will make an equally strong statement.
