By popular request through emails, I’ve decided to create a post here to record all of the different Bible verses Tim Tebow wears on his eye black for the games. I’ve created a link on the sidebar that takes you directly to this post, so following every game just click on that link if you want to see the latest verse. I will continue to update this thread through the 2009 season. I’m not sure if he’ll be allowed to wear unique eye black in the NFL.
Through the entire 2008 season, Tim Tebow wore Phil 4:13 which says “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” However, during the National Title game he wore John 3:16 which says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Now on to the 2009 games:
Charleston Southern: Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Troy: Mark 8:36 “What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul.”
Tennessee: Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Kentucky: Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they.”
LSU: Thessalonians 5:18 “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. That’s pretty fitting for last nights game don’t you think?”
Arkansas: Psalms 23:1 “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
Mississippi State: Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Georgia: Philippians 4:6-7 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Vanderbilt: Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”
South Carolina: Joshua 1:8-9 “8- This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 9- Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Florida International: Romans 1:16 “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.”
Florida State: Hebrews 12:1-2 “1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
SECCG: John 16:33 – “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Sugar Bowl: Ephesians 2:8-10 – “8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Hi, just a note about the comment that was made about working on the Sabbath. The Sabbath is actually the seventh day of the week which would make Saturday the Sabbath, not Sunday. I’m not a Seventh Day Adventist, and I’m trying to get anyone on a religious tirade about this, but it’s right there in the Bible in black and white. It’s Saturday, it’s always been Saturday, no one changed it, ask your pastor if you don’t believe me.

As a mom with three sons, I am thankful for an amazing role model like Tim Tebow. I love the fact that you recorded all the eye black verses here because I have been trying to keep a log of them whenever I would see Tim on t.v. I use them to post verses on my sons’ mirrors for weekly inspiration. May God continue to bless Tim in his future career. His witness is refreshing in today’s world of ‘fallen’ heroes!! Thank you!!

I am a highschool football player and I have been looking for a good site to find tebow’s eye black verses. I go to a catholic highschool and I pray that in gods name I can be like Tim T on the field and in spirituality.
good luck guys good work
It is absolutely correct that in biblical antiquity (what Christians would refer to the New Testament) to this current day the Sabbath is celebrated from Sundown Friday to Sundown Saturday. Many denominations as well as orthodox Jews still celebrate this this time as Sabbath.
However, in early biblical antiquity in what we would recognize as “Old Testament”, time was measured based on the moon cycle not on the sun. So the Sabbath that God established actually changed based on the moon cycle and would not have been the exact period of time each week.
When Ceasar changed the way time was measured it was adopted by Judaism to recognize the Sabbath cycle that we see in “New Testament” based on that change.
Go TIM !!

ok, i go to a christian school, the bible clearly says in genesis 2:2,”By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.” so its the 7th day of the week that God had rested, so it is the sabbath day. theres only one sabbath day, and it must be kept Holy.
good read,thank you
Their popularity increased as a result of World War I and World War II, when sheepskin boots were popular with aviators, because of their need to keep warm in non-pressurised planes at high altitudes. Uggs have also been popular with surfers and competitive swimmers since at least the 1960s, for keeping warm while out of the water. Most Australians only wear UGG Boots Cheap around the house, or on trips no further than local shops. One of the more popular ways to wear them is to wear the boot over the bottom of the pant leg, although you can also see people wear the boots with the bottom of the pant leg fitting over the boot.
GO TEBOW AND GOD BLESS ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Suggestion for eyepatch verse: Matthew 6:5-6: “When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on street corners so that others may see them. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.”
Tim could actually use one sentence per game, as the message throughout is consistent.
