Florida Gator quarterback Tim Tebow missed practice on Monday (expected) and was absent from his normal Monday press conference (also expected). Urban Meyer was at the press conference to give an update on Timmy. “Tim looks a lot better. It’s not quite been nine days but he does look better and continues to work with our doctors and training staff,” Meyer said. “We’re doing a phenomenal job. Other than that I don’t know. Those things are day to day.”

Tim’s headaches are gone. He can do more things that require focus and attention, like watching game film and reading. The doctors continue to administer baseline tests every day to measure his recovery.

You know Tim is just dying to get back on the field and in the locker room with his teammates. Being away from the game must be heartbreaking. He’ll do everything in his power to convince the doctors he is ready to play, but ultimately it will be their decision if Tim can suit up.

Here are some other nuggets from the press conference by David Jones, Florida Today.

How late is too late for Tebow to be cleared and practice to play in the game remains uncertain.

“Hard questions, and I can’t answer that. I’ll know the next two days. … Can Tim play quarterback at Florida against a very good defense without practicing, I don’t know that,” Meyer said.

He said he will announce it, if Tebow is cleared to play.

“(But) if it’s real late (in the week) you’ll probably have to wait late [on Saturday night]. If they clear him earlier than that, I’ll probably tell you,” Meyer said.
