Gator fans got a little scare – ok not really – when news came out that Tim Tebow had a minor back injury. Apparently it’s just a sore back and it’s nothing serious at all… I mean Superman can’t get hurt can he? Tebow was heldout of some contact drills last week in practice, but that’s about it. “He has not missed practice at all,” Meyer said. “He has been held out of live situations against the defense, mostly to get (backup) Johnny Brantley reps. His lower back was a little sore.”
Coach Urban Meyer said Saturday that Tebow is “fine, 100 percent.” He’ll be back to full speed in practice on Monday. Tebow hasn’t missed a game yet in his college career and he has played through some tough injuries. Remember in 2007 when he broke his hand against FSU and still played through it and was on the field in the Capital One Bowl Game vs. Michigan.
The Gators are only about two weeks out from their first home game against Charleston Southern. Even though the Gators could beat them without a QB on the field, you still want to have all your stars 100% for the start of the season.
Thank goodness he’s alright! That really scared me!!! And I’m sure, even if his back was broken in half, he would find a way to play(and win) the game.
Let’s be honest guys, Tim should have bolted to the NFL! Whoever convinced him otherwise has done him a GREAT injustice if he gets injured this year!
I write about this topic on my site today.
