Today we have a piece of fan mail from a high school student. She chose to write about Florida Gator quarterback Tim Tebow on an AP English test… a risky move … what if the grader was a Seminole fan!?
Dear Tim,
This past year, as a junior in high school, I took AP English Language. When I took the exam in May, one of my essay prompts said to discuss an example of when someone had to overcome or face adversity and how it made them a stronger person in the end. Naturally, being a lifelong Gator fan, I thought back to the September 2008 game against Ole Miss. I wrote my essay on how if the Gators had not lost against Ole
Miss, they might not have won the National Championship due to the motivation it caused the team. I mentioned your famous “promise” you made to Gator Nation and how you were determined to work harder than ever to overcome this loss. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to see all the hard work from you and the rest of the team pay off first hand at the National Championship. I just wanted to thank you because I found out today I made a 4 on my exam (on a scale of 0-5, with 3-5 being passing grades). Thank you so much for being an inspiration to all!GO GATORS!

we wrote a paper on timmy for Our english class in cllege and we got an A+ on it – our teacher said she never knew somebody could know that much about hom -I did though because i go to church with him – and we even got her an autograph to go with the paper!!!
This is pretty cool!!! For my confirmation we had to pick a scripture and say what it meant to us. I chose one of Tim’s favorite’s(and he wore it under his eye blacks) Philipians 4:13-”I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”. I also love the verse, but I have to say that I might not of even picked it if Tim hadn’t inspired me!
As we sit and watch the gator games now, the first this we look for is the scripture that is on your face. Our pastor came in our Bible study class and we told him we were discussing Mark 8:36. He laughed and said “Yeh the Gators are the only team in the country that you sit with a Bible in hand to watch the game”. The thought came to mind, Why don’t you do a series on the ABC’s of salvation. I know everyone won’t tie it together, but some will. You have such an awesome opportunity to witness about the Christ in your life. Oh and by the way, I’m a 61 year old, happily married, 3 children, 7 grandchildren woman and “I Love You” Mary Jo Hancock
