Today’s letter from a fan comes from a youth group leader named Laura. She is a die hard Virginia Tech fan, but like thousands of others, has been captivated by Tim Tebow and the good he does for all mankind.

Tim,
As a die-hard Virginia Tech fan, I’m shocked to find myself following Gator football. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would pair orange with any color but “Chicago Maroon”

Anyway, I started following the Gators this past football season. After the National Middle School Association conference I was unwinding with friends over dinner at ESPN Zone in Denver, CO; I was seated directly in front of the mega-huge screen TV which was tuned in to the Florida/ Georgia game. To be honest, I wasn’t watching the game very closely because it was a run away. I did, however, catch a glimpse of your face — it’s hard to miss when it’s on a screen THAT BIG. I can’t remember which Bible verse you’d written under your eyes for this particular game but I recognized the writing as a scripture reference. As a youth group leader, I immediately thought to myself, “I have to learn more about this guy” As soon as I was able, I hit up Google. I found myself reading about you visiting orphanages, taking mission trips to the Philippines, and ministering on campus; I was more than pleased with my findings!

You are an amazing example of someone living life for Christ even though it’s not the socially acceptable thing to do in college –something I, a recent graduate, know all too well. I appreciate your dedication to spreading God’s word and am grateful you give God the glory for your success! When teaching my youth students the characteristics described in 1 Timothy 4:12, I can use you as an example.  Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being a light in an ever darkening world. May God continue to bless you and your family…
