We get a lot of fan mail for Tim Tebow. I try to read every one of them. Some I respond to,and some I don’t. This one came just a few days ago from a student at Mississippi State, a rival SEC School.Once again, I changed the name to protect his identity.
Mr. Tebow you are an inspiration to all SEC football fans and Christians around the world. I thought you were the right chose for the Heisman, and believe if you play next season like you did this season that you will be sitting in New York in December 2009. I wish you and your team luck in the National Championship game in January. Oklahoma and USC are the most overrated programs in the country. I look forward to seeing you and the Florida Gators show the world that the real National Championship game was played in Atlanta, and that Oklahoma should be banned form the title game. Due to the fact that they get embarrassed every time they face the best team from the SEC.
I am writing because I have had a really hard time the last couple of years after serving in Iraq twice, coming home, staying drunk for two years, and then staying sober for a year and counting. I have had a hard time adjusting back to civilian and college life. The last couple of years can only be described as hell. A recently decided to re devote myself to Christ and assault the lies I have been living with. It was you who inspired me too make time to worship God the Father. I have watched many of your games this season and noticed that you often wear eye black stickers with a bible verse written on them. Every game that I saw the verse I went directly to my bible and looked it up. It made me believe that if Tim Tebow, the most famous person in college football, draws his strength from the God of Israel then if I too turned away from sin and followed the light that there might be hope for me after all. I look forward to seeing your Bible verse selection for the BCS game. If you can not think of one that really motivates you please use Matthew 1: 23
“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. (Matthew 1:23 KJV)
I know the game is after Christmas, but the last part of the verse feels my mind with positive thoughts. When I say the word Emmanuel I truly feel the Holy Sprit rush over me. Wise men know that without Jesus there can be no victory. I urge you to remember the interpretation of this word which is “God among us”, because he will be with you in victory or defeat. Good luck to you and your teammates and thank you from the Miss. State Bulldog nation for our new coach.
Sincerely,
John

May Our Lord, bless you and keep you safe.We need more young men like you.You brought tears to my eyes,I have kids you age,and I hope they also become living testimonies,of what Christ, can do in our lives, when we say yes to him.
John,
As Tim would, I want to sincerely thank you for your sacrifice to me and to our country. There is no higher calling than to be ready to lay down one’s life for another. I am that other and I am truly humbled and thank God for you each day. You are the truest example of Tim’s mission – to bring everyone to Christ.
