The last time Tim Tebow was challenged (Geno Hayes) he made the challenger pay for it. I just read an article on ESPN.com about an LSU player who publically stated that he wants to take Tim out of the game. Here’s an excerpt:
The Florida-LSU rivalry never seems to run short on vitriol. LSU defensive tackle Ricky Jean-Francois upped the ante this week by vowing that his linemates, if the opportunity presents itself, will try to knock Gators quarterback Tim Tebow, last year’s Heisman Trophy winner, out of the game.
“If we get a good shot on [Tebow], we’re going to try our best to take him out of the game,” Jean-Francois said Monday, according to the Orlando Sentinel’s Web site. “With his size and his heart, it’s hard to get a clean shot.
“I think every lineman wants to get a good hit on a Heisman Trophy winner.”
Most fans will cast this off as just trash talk and not make anything of it. I wonder if the players and coaches think of it as the same way? Will Tim Tebow and the Gators use this as motivation and bulletin board material?
Ricky Jean-Francois is no Glenn Dorsey. I think Tebow can take him.

What a classy thing to say out in front of everyone.Of course it had to come from lsu.One of my favorite games the Fla/lsu game is saturday.I can’t stand lsu I mean every team has mouthy trash talkers but seems like lsu has a whole team of them.I hope that Tebow and the gators run all of over the tigers.Nothing shuts them up like there butts hitting the ground and looking back to see #15 going the other direction.So heres to the gators hope Tim Tebow has career highs in everything saturday.And just for the record would love to see little ricky get leveled by Tebow.Its an important SEC game with the winner possibly competeing in the championship.So the gators better bring there A game.So Tim get your teamates fired up and and make lsu shut up. What the hell are you talking about?! Tebow can “take” Ricky Jean-Francois, really now? And of course he’s no Glenn Dorsey, he’s just one of the better DT’s in college football (if not better than mount Cody) and would crush Tebow, for pikes sake tebow doesnt even bench over 400 lbs.

Tebow doesn’t bench over 400 pounds? Not only did the sports announcers say that he benches over 400 during one of last years games, but he can probably bench even more now that he’s gotten older. If you don’t know that he benches over 450, you are not well informed.
He even benched 185 lbs 38 consecutive times! that is crazy. he had the 2nd highest bench press on the team as a freshmen. that is including all the guys that left for the nfl that year. He is a beast of a man. Ricky has 1 sack. wow. tebow would knock him on his butt.
Tebow can bench well over 400lbs…..the coaches just won’t let him. I saw an interview with him where he said they limit him to “400″ so he doesn’t lose too much flexibility. Also in his interview in Mens Fitness, he said that the strength coaches dictate his entire workout, because he has (had) the tendency to lift to be the strongest guy on the team. You are even more uninformed. Tim Tebow maxes his bench at 480 (which I heard has increased since the beginning of the spring). However, this is just leisure lifting for Tim, getting outside of what the coaches have scheduled for his lift regimen. Ricky Jean Francois reps (you know what reps are right?) 425 and maxed out 520+ earlier this year…hence why he would get his bell rung trying to run into this guy…but he’s smarter than that
I didn’t say ricky was weak. Butch, you said tebow can’t even bench 400 even though he benches well over that. But either way, Ricky only has 1 sack. and tebow only has 10 touchdowns. I think tebow is finally going to have a 2007 performance this game. haha.
